The heat-transfer tubes and tube-sheets are the most complicated pressure parts in PWR steam generator. For analyzing the stress of heat-transfer tubes and tube-sheets, the geometry model of heat-transfer tubes and tube-sheet was constructed. The finite element grids were generated by ANSYS. According to operating temperature, the temperature field and temperature stress were calculated with ANSYS. The results show that the maximum stress is located on the inner wall of juncture of heat-transfer tubes and tube-sheet. According to the operating conditions of heat-transfer tubes and tube-sheet,

This paper is focused on innovative self-pierce riveting concepts to produce invisible joints in sheet-sheet and tube-sheet connections. The common element to these two different types of joints is the use of tubular rivets with chamfered ends, which are accessories in the case of sheet-sheet joints and constitutive (structural) elements in the case of tube-sheet joints. The presentation draws from the deformation mechanics of double-sided self-pierce riveting for producing lap joints in overlapped sheets to the development of self-pierce riveting of tubes to sheets, which is a new joining by

AbstractIn a two-dimensional quadrupolar magnetic field geometry, it is demonstrated that various magnetohydrostatic equilibrium field configurations containing current sheets can be formed either by changes in thermal properties or by footpoint displacement. The shape of current sheets depends on the mass distribution in flux tubes. If the mass per flux tube is maximum at the center of the low-lying bipolar arcades, a current sheet is formed between these two arcades along the separatrix line as the plasma temperature (or the shearing footpoint displacement) is increased above a critical valu

The concept is different from the fixing of sheets to tubes by applying direct loading on the tubes, as is currently done in existing deformation-assisted joining solutions. Abstract:
Construction activities entail substantial disturbance of topsoil and vegetative cover. As a result, stormwater runoff and erosion rates are increased significantly. If the soil erosion and subsequently generated sediment are not contained within the site, they would have a negative off-site impact as well as a detrimental influence on the receiving water body. In this study, replicable large-scale tests were used to analyze the ability of products to prevent sediment from exiting the perimeter of a site via sheet flow. The goal of these tests was to compare products to examine how well they r

Abstract:
Mycoplasma bovis and M. agalactiae are two phylogenetically related mycoplasmas which cause economically significant diseases in their respective bovine or small ruminant hosts. These organisms cause persistent asymptomatic infections that can result in severe outbreaks upon introduction of carrier animals into susceptible herds. Little is known about the mechanisms underlying mycoplasma-host interaction, variation in virulence, or of the factors enabling avoidance of the host immune system. In recent years it has become apparent that the ability of pathogenic microorganisms to rapidly alter s
