ATRX is an important molecular marker according to the 2021 WHO classification of adult-type diffuse glioma. We aim to predict the ATRX mutation status non-invasively using radiomics-based machine learning models on MRI and to determine which MRI sequence is best suited for this purpose. In this retrospective study, we used MRI images of patients with histologically confirmed glioma, including the sequences T1w without and with the administration of contrast agent, T2w, and the FLAIR. Radiomics features were extracted from the corresponding MRI images by hand-delineated regions of interest. Da

Series data, sequences of measured values, are ubiquitous. Whenever observations are made along a path in space or time, a data sequence results. To comprehend nature and shape it to our will, or to make informed decisions based on what we know, we need methods to make sense of such data. Of particular interest are probabilistic descriptions, which enable us to represent uncertainty and random variation inherent to the world around us. This thesis presents and expands upon some tools for creating probabilistic models of sequences, with an eye towards applications involving speech and language.

Introduction: New onset of a refractory status epilepticus (NORSE) is a clinical presentation, without a clear cause, within the first 72h of admission of a non-epileptic patient. FIRES (Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome) is a NORSE subgroup with febrile prodrome 24 hours to 2 weeks before the onset of status. This case reports a previously healthy 7-year-old female with FIRES and super refractory status epilepticus (SE). Methods: This is a case report based on retrospective analysis of a single patient’s medical record. Results: The patient presented with SE four days after low grad

Abstract:
Abstract Artificial lift systems are employed in approximately 95% of global oil wells, yet their operational lifespans are often curtailed by complex geological conditions, equipment fatigue, and production demands. To address these challenges, this study proposes an innovative Interpretable Damage Analysis (InterDA) method for fault diagnosis and maintenance optimization. By combining adaptive temporal feature segmentation with expert rule-based interpretation, InterDA assesses the operational status of equipment and quantifies potential risk sources. A risk score enhancement strategy is fur

The integral code ASTEC (Accident Source Term Evaluation Code) commonly developed by IRSN and GRS is a fast running programme, which allows the calculation of entire sequences of severe accidents (SA) in light water reactors from the initiating event up to the release of fission products into the environment, thereby covering all important in-vessel and containment phenomena. Thus, the main fields of ASTEC application are intended to be accident sequence studies, uncertainty and sensitivity studies, probabilistic safety analysis level 2 studies as well as support to experiments. This article discusses the concept of the social orientation of activity and the entrepreneurial approach at the level of the Russian Federation, including a number of aspects of the legal regulation of public relations between organizations of state power and social entrepreneurs. The main problem of the study is the study of the sequence of the assignment of the status of a social enterprise by the authorities Russia at the federal level. Currently, the question is being raised about the adoption of a separate federal legislative act "On the development of small and medium-sized enterprises

In this technical paper, the author addresses pertinent issues that affect reform in the power sector and the status of current efforts. The objective of the paper is such: 1) It explains the difficulties in achieving a separation of the roles of the State in an environment in which it continues to play an important role as entrepreneur, and the difficulties of providing adequate regulation in an institutional and resource-constrained environment; 2) It discusses the stranded costs arising from the impossibility of following the correct sequence of reforms and the constraints imposed by this f

The project’s general objectives were to determine specific polymorphisms at the DNA level responsible for observed quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and to estimate their effects, frequencies, and selection potential in the Holstein dairy cattle breed. The specific objectives were to (1) localize the causative polymorphisms to small chromosomal segments based on analysis of 52 U.S. Holstein bulls each with at least 100 sons with high-reliability genetic evaluations using the a posteriori granddaughter design; (2) sequence the complete genomes of at least 40 of those bulls to 20 coverage; (3) de

Atrazine is a broadly used herbicide in agriculture and it was used here as a model to study the biodegradation of herbicides. The bacterium Pseudomonas sp. ADP metabolizes atrazine to carbon dioxide and ammonia and chloride. The genes encoding atrazine catabolism to cyanuric acid were cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The genes were designated atzA, atzB and atzC. Each gene was sequenced. The enzyme activities were characterized. AtzA is atrazine chlorohydrolase which takes atrazine to hydroxyatrizine. AtzB is hydroxyatrazine N-ethylaminohydrolase which produces N-isopropylammelide an

Moths constitute a major group of pest insects in agriculture. Pheromone blends are utilised by a variety of moth species to attract conspecific mates, which is under circadian control by the neurohormone, PBAN (pheromone-biosynthesis-activating neuropeptide). Our working hypothesis was that, since the emission of sex-pheromone is necessary to attract a mate, then failure to produce and emit pheromone is a potential strategy for manipulating adult moth behavior. The gene coding for the GtH IIb was isolated and sequenced. Three bc recombinant phages which hybridized to the goldfish GtH Ib cDNA probe were isolated and are currently being characterized.
