Abstract:
The aim of the thesis: "Strategic Business Activities of a Chosen Firm" is strategic analysis and the evaluation of present strategic business activities of the chosen firm, which in turn is based on the formulation of recommended strategic business activities, thanks to which the company should hold its market share and in particular the level of income. The goal is the formulation of such measures through which the company will continue to be competitive and be a market leader. The basis of this work is the analysis of internal and external business environment. Partial analyzes are quantitatively evaluated and their results are then incorporated. Based on the results of the strategic analysis is then evaluated the current situation and position in the market and are also formulated various recommendations, including recommended strategies that can be used in the future.

For years, Services organizations have operated dining facilities with little change to strategic direction for the type of operation they should implement. Contracts, regardless of type, often run on auto pilot. Organizations renew the contracts when their option years run out with little change or modification to the contract. The only thing that seems to change is the ever increasing price of the contract and perhaps the contractor. This analysis will attempt to provide a framework for change that provides a tool for decision makers to utilize when faced with a feeding contract that has reached the end of its service life. Through our analysis, we will develop a "decision matrix to select a food service system for Air Force bases." The decision matrix will help answer the question of which food service operation should be implemented at any AFB. The matrix will include criteria to evaluate the options while guiding the type of contract or in-house service that best meets the base requirement. In addition, to be of use to any Services organization at any AFB, it will be a decision tool that any evaluator may adapt to their specific requirements and constraints.

Abstract:
Valves play a critical role in a water distribution system for subsystem isolation and flow or pressure control. Among them, subsystem isolation is required to repair or to rehabilitate a broken component and can be done by closing adjacent valves. To evaluate the role of valves, the concept of â Segmentâ is necessary. A segment consists of a set of pipes and nodes isolated together by closing adjacent valves when a pipe fails. An efficient algorithm to identify segments in a water distribution system is proposed. In addition, when a segment is isolated, an additional subsystem may be disconnected from water sources by the segment isolation. It is a topological unintended isolation. In addition, a hydraulic failure, in terms of pressure types of failures at demand nodes should be considered. These three account for the failure impact of a pipe. Placing valves efficiently improves the reliability of a water distribution system. However, the valve reliability itself is not 100%. Therefore, valve failure consequence should be explored in determining the locations of valves. For this purpose, three methodologies, namely segment-valve matrix algorithm, decision tree approach and simulation are proposed. Another consideration for placing valves is a strategic valving rule, namely N and (N-1) valving rules. Using a formulation for node reliability in terms of failing valves, the reliability difference between the two valving rules is evaluated. We also employ a mixed N and (N-1) valving rule. Another strategic valving rule, a segment size reducing approach minimizing the number of affected customers is proposed. The developed algorithms are utilized to build software, the Strategic Valve Management Model, to solve practical problems. The methodology is applied to three real water distribution systems.

Abstract:
The main focus of this thesis is a proposal of business development strategy for small company providing accomodation services in Slovakia. The first part is theoretical and defines basic concepts as strategy, strategic management, development and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as its characteristics. It also describes selected analytical-research methods which goal is to reveal the key factors influencing the current situation. These methods are then applied in the second part, the analytical, where the external and internal environment of the company is mapped and analyzed, together with the influencing factors. The third part, the proposing, interprets possible solutions and recommendations based on the results of selected analyzes, which aim to ensure the future development of the company.

Analysis of product and organisational architecture using dependency structure matrices to describe a series of domains, in conjunction with real options theory, assists in predicting the strategic capabilities of either existing or potential products and organisations, and likely optimal or maximal rates of change. This assists in predicting the extent to which technologically dependent organisations can realistically create and capture value from a portfolio approach as a number of technology conglomerates currently seek to do. It also goes some way towards explaining why existing organisations find it difficult to create or exploit new knowledge and thereby helps explain why many synergies remain unrealised. This suggests that strategic leadership of technology conglomerates must be by people who possess either the tacit knowledge of the financial, organisational and technical aspects of the business, or who possess explicit tools to bridge any gaps. Given that explicit financial tools are available, in the absence of unique individuals the strategic planning process needs to incorporate measures designed to a priori check that the proposed strategies will result in technical knowledge creation and organisational value capture.

The aim of this thesis is to design a strategy for Vodafone Czech Republic, a.s. Using the open data an analysis of macroenvironment as well as microenvironment are performed, where a definition and a breakdown of telecommunication market into five segment is made. Following is the analysis of Porter five forces, which analyses competition forces on the market as well as to the Vodafone. Further on a financial analysis and product portfolio analysis is made, which serves as the basis of Ansoff matrix. In the conclusion a synthesis of the analyses is made and several strategies are designed.

Abstract:
The thesis proposes that Strategic Planning for Information Systems (SPIS) has become ineffective through a tendency to focus on the information technologies involved. The thesis argues that the dominant rational, reductionist epistemology of SPIS methods, tools and techniques limits the effectiveness of SPIS through methodological impoverishment. The thesis proposes that a humanistic, sociotechnical perspective of SPIS accommodates the use of complementary tools and techniques that improve the process. This thesis advances a new Framework to improve the process of SPIS based on the propositions; first that the lack of sufficient knowledge of both the internal and external environment is a root cause of many of these insufficiencies, and second that this knowledge is held within the stakeholders of this process. An ernancipatory information systems research programme (Klein and Hirschheim, 1987) is used to advance a framework that overcomes the insufficiency and inadequacy of the process of strategic planning for information systems in organisations that permits information systems to fail. The framework is tested on two organisations and shows that the proposed Framework has significant potential to improve the SPIS process. The case research investigates the role of stakeholders, knowledge, and boundaries in the process of SPIS in order to develop more sufficient methods for the process of SPIS that address the perceived inadequacies in current processes, and thus provide an improved strategic planning process for information systems. Two novel tools are introduced: the Stakeholder Web and the Interaction Matrix. Their evolution is a major contribution of this research. The collection of tools presents a practical research contribution for the SPIS process and as generic (methodological) research tools. A new definition for the term 'stakeholder' is formulated and used to supply clarity in understanding for this study - and would prove useful for the field of IS.

The aim of the thesis is to create a marketing plan for a building company in 2012. The theoretical part is devoted to the description the building market, strategy and marketing strategy, situational analysis and its tools. There are basic concepts explained, each division and structure. In the practical part describes the company and its activities. The marketing situation analysis, describes the current situation in which the business is located and the influences that act on it. Each analysis is the basis for creating a marketing plan for the company Klima-Brno in 2012. The marketing plan defined objectives. The chosen strategy is elaborated in action programs, by which should be complied with that goal. The conclusion is given control system and the possible risks that may impede the achievement of the marketing plan.

Esta dissertação propõem-se a apresentar um modelo de implementação da gestão estratégica em organizações públicas com uso integrado do Balanced Scorecard (BSC) e do Governo Matricial (GM), após apresentar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o Balanced Scorecard e sobre o Governo Matricial, na qual foram estabelecidos elementos de comparação e análise entre estas duas metodologias e foram identificadas as possibilidades de complementaridade entre elas para auxiliar a implementação da estratégia de organizações públicas. O modelo é composto por seis etapas: Concepção da Estratégia; Tradução da Estratégia (Planejamento Estratégico); Alinhamento da Organização com a Estratégia; Atribuição de Responsabilidades; Alinhamento dos Processos internos com a Estratégia (Planejamento Operacional); Acompanhamento e Avaliação de Resultados. Para a elaboração do modelo proposto foi estudado o caso da implementação conjunta das duas metodologias no Ministério da Saúde. E ao final do trabalho cumpriram-se os objetivos propostos, pois o GM e o BSC foram analisados à luz dos elementos de comparação propostos, foram identificados os pontos de complementaridade entre as metodologias, e por fim foi apresentado um modelo que possibilita auxiliar a implementação da estratégia em organizações públicas.

Resumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa é o desenvolvimento de um novo modelo conceitual para representação, de uma forma integrada, das mais diversas situações de conflito de interesses, como uma base para análise e projeto de controle de sistemas hierárquicos multiagentes, e para o aprimoramento da metodologia de capacitação de executivos para a administração estratégica desses conflitos. O método utilizado para esta pesquisa foi um investigação das condicionantes análogas presentes nos quatro jogos clássicos da Teoria dos Jogos ¿ Nash, Stackelberg, Pareto e Minimax ¿ buscando, entre eles, as características semelhantes e as peculiaridades que realmente os fazem semelhantes e distintos entre si. Desta investigação, foram identificadas duas dimensões diferenciadoras, que possibilitaram a concepção e a construção de uma matriz para representação desses jogos, de uma forma integrada. O modelo conceitual resultante desta pesquisa fornece um esquema analítico abrangente, inspirado na teoria dos jogos, e é usado para explicar, descrever, interpretar e prever os comportamentos dos diversos agentes autônomos envolvidos em situações de conflito de interesses e, em certos casos, prescrever decisões mais adequadas. A Matriz de Jogos Estratégicos (MJE), proposta e utilizada neste trabalho, estabelece um quadro de referência conceitual, mapeando seis diferentes tipos de jogos. Nela, os pressupostos dos modelos clássicos de jogos citados, e outros em casos-limite, são usados de forma integrada e complementar. São tratados, na MJE, jogos competitivos e cooperativos, jogos equilibrados e não-equilibrados, levando em conta tanto a postura concorrencial de cada jogador como o seu pressuposto de relação-de-forças. A MJE contempla de forma inovativa o tratamento de múltiplos subjogos estratégicos simultâneos entre os agentes envolvidos. A aplicação dos conceitos da MJE a complexos sistemas ¿ hierárquicos ou não ¿, com múltiplos agentes inteligentes interativos autônomos, provê uma metodologia de utilidade para análise e projeto de estratégias de controle. Parte importante deste estudo é a realização de experimentos exploratórios com propósito pedagógico. Esses jogos de empresa, realizados via computador, indicam que os participantes ampliam sua percepção para compreender os diversos jogos a jogar, e sua habilidade para atuar em cada um deles. Este uso da MJE leva cada participante a analisar situações de conflito de interesses e a melhor escolher suas decisões estratégicas: Através de um processo dinâmico interativo de tentativa e erro, ele ou ela acaba aprendendo a tomar melhores decisões, levando em conta as possíveis decisões dos demais agentes envolvidos bem como sua avaliação das conseqüências de suas escolhas. Abstract: The objective of the current research is the development of a new conceptual model aiming to represent, in an integrated manner, the many situations of conflict of interests as a basis for analysis and design of hierarchical multiagent systems control and for the improvement of the methodology for betterment of the managers¿ skills to deal with the strategic management of such conflicts. The investigation method used was a comparative analysis of the unique characteristics of classical games from Game Theory ¿ Nash, Stackelberg, Pareto, and Minimax ¿ searching, among them, their commonalities and differentiations. This investigation identified two distinct dimensions that enabled the conception and construction of a matrix to represent, in a integrated form, those four games mentioned above. The resulting conceptual model provides a comprehensive analytical scheme, inspired in the theory of games, and is used to explain, describe, interpret and forecast behaviors of autonomous agents involved in situations of conflict of interests and, in some cases, to prescribe the more adequate decisions. The Strategic Games Matrix (SGM) proposed and used in this study establishes a conceptual reference framework mapping six different types of games. In it, the assumptions for classic game models, among others for limitcases, are used in an integrated and complementary manner. The SGM deals with both competitive and cooperative games, as well as balanced and unbalanced ones, taking into consideration both the players' competitive postures and the powerratio assumed by each one. The SGM contemplates in an innovative way the treatment of multiple simultaneous strategic sub-games among the agents involved. The application of the SGM concepts to complex systems ¿ hierarchical or not ¿, with multiple autonomous intelligent interactive agents, provides a methodology of utility for analysis and design of their control strategies. An important part of this study is the exploratory experiments with pedagogical purpose. Such business games, played in a computer, indicate that the participants increase their perception to understand the various games to play, and their ability to act at each one of them. This use of the SGM leads each participant to analyze conflict of interests¿ situations and to improve its strategic decisions: Through an interactive dynamic process of trial and error he/she ends up learning how to make better decisions taking into consideration the likely decisions of the other agents involved as well as her/his evaluation of the consequences of their choices. The diploma thesis deals with the elaboration of a business plan for the establishment of a new patisserie in the village of Mokrá-Horákov. The first, theoretical part of the thesis contains the theoretical starting points defining the business idea, concept and structure of the business plan and description of methods used for strategic analysis of the environment in the given issue. The analytical part of the thesis builds on the results of analysis of the general and business environment of the company, its own marketing research and analysis of own resources and capabilities. On the basis of these analysis a suitable strategy for the start-up company is chosen. The suggestion part contains the complete processing of the parts of the plan according to the basic content structure, following the chosen strategy so that the business project is not only feasible but also viable.

This study suggests a model for the assessment and development of new businessideas. The scope of the thesis is on the early stages of the model, specifically on the firsttwo steps which refer to screening and identification of global trends in the electricitymarket and the assessment and selection of business opportunities. The framework isan adaptation of portfolio management methodologies and multi-criteria group decisionmodels. The study was developed and applied through a case study in Ormazabal, anelectrical equipment manufacturer and supplier of power network solutions.There are three main theoretical contributions in this work. First, it outlines a five-stepmodel for the development of business opportunities. Second, it suggests a guide forscreening the macro-environment and for the identification of global trends in theelectricity market and finally, it provides a new approach to the directional policy matrixfor the assessment and selection of business ideas. The proposed model has beentested in a real case and the results reveal a practical approach to strategic decisionsbased on team collaboration and group discussion.

Based on concepts of Sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and financial factors, this paper proposes an array of strategic positioning of product and a method for its implementation. The Sustainable Strategic Positioning Matrix (MPESus) is intended to analyze the environmental and financial impacts of one or more products, considering its supply chain, allowing to compare performance and formulate strategies for action. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the suitability of methods of managerial decision-making in practice. The thesis highlights the diversity of selected methods, particularly in relation to the use of discrete and continuous risk factors. The methods are applied to the case of the introduction of new product in the market of commercial security services. The thesis includes a complete strategic planning cycle based on the defined objectives of the organization, security agency SECURE. From the analytical part, including the analysis of the competitive environment 5F, through the creation of strategies, author proceeds to an implementation part which is the essence of the thesis. It is represented by managerial decision-making under risk and uncertainty, particularly decision matrix and the method of Monte Carlo. There is no single resource so essential to sustaining life and livelihoods than water (UNDP, 2005). Water is furthermore a strategic resource that not only gives life, but is also a catalyst for development; therefore water has to and must be at the centre of all development plans (Buyelwa, 2009). Water can be the limiting factor for economic growth, upliftment and social development due to its scarcity and uneven distribution. Strategic spatial interface and relationship with water resource planning and management is fundamental to development and realisation of spatial potential. Strategic spatial planning has many components of which the Spatial Development Framework forms the key regulation to guide development and inform investment opportunities. The goal of this study is to determine the degree to which water resource management and planning is incorporated in Spatial Development Frameworks in context of strategic spatial planning. Concurrently international strategic spatial planning procedures and water resource management principles are investigated to correlate the local situation with international trends. A Goal Achievement Matrix (GAM) with ten assessment principles is developed as a tool for evaluation of strategic spatial planning and water resource management documents in terms of the local municipal level. This GAM may be used and implemented as a comparative evaluation tool to compare the degree of integration and implementation of water resource management and strategic spatial planning of local municipal authorities internationally. The percentage score as achieved in evaluation of the GAM indicates the degree of integration of water resource management and planning with strategic spatial planning. The cumulative result of the GAM scored 68% which can be used as a degree of comparison in future studies with other local municipalities, even on an international level. Measured in terms of the different authority levels the local level performed the worst with a 50% GAM score whilst the national level has a high GAM score of 86%. The low local level score indicates that exceptional legislation and policies on national level are not sufficient to eradicate poverty, provide water for all and provide for long-term sustainability if the implementation at local level falters. The low local level score may also be attributed to a lack of institutional capacity and lack of appropriate skills. It is concluded that Spatial Development Frameworks (as a component of strategic spatial planning) and water resource management and planning on a local level are not effectively integrated and it is recommended that water resources and planned future development must be effectively managed and integrated in order to ensure sustainable communities at local level. As a planning recommendation, the Guidelines for the Development of Spatial Development Frameworks developed by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform must be extended to incorporate the integrative approach between strategic spatial planning and water resource management as a fundamental aspect. The effective integration of water resource management and planning in strategic spatial planning is key to sustainable, equitable and viable communities.

O trabalho baseou-se num projeto de uma empresa de tecnologias de informação ("Empresa Q"), onde se pretendeu analisar o fenómeno acima descrito, no respetivo contexto. Foi conduzido usando-se uma abordagem de investigação qualitativa, com recurso a entrevistas, questionários e observações diretas. Graças ao trabalho de campo realizado com o presente projeto, a "Empresa Q", estendeu o seu exercício estratégico até a um nível operacional, onde se desenvolveu a construção de três matrizes-X e onde se constatou que a matriz-X consegue continuar o processo de planeamento estratégico até ao nível da implementação da estratégia da "Empresa Q".
This paper sought to understand how the implementation of the X-matrix tool at project portfolio management level leads to value creation at the strategic level and how this matrix can help an organization, at the strategic planning level, and in the outcome of their projects. The work was based on a project of an IT company ("Empresa Q"), which aimed to analyze the phenomenon described above, within its context. It was conducted using a qualitative research approach, using interviews, questionnaires and direct observations. Thanks to the groundwork developed with this project the "Empresa Q", amplified her strategic exercise until an operational level, where we build three X-matrix and where were founded findings that the X-matrix could proceed with the process of strategic planning until the level of the strategy implementation, of the "Empresa Q".

The aim of this thesis is to analyze a management problem in the organization Bohemians 1905, a.s. and submit recommendations to the board of the club for strategic choice options how to solve the management problem. The correct formulation of the problem will need to be analyze the current situation, put it in a strategic context and find the cause of the problem. This is done by Kepner-Tregoe methodology, C-E diagram and cognitive map. It will also need to develop objective solutions, design criteria, specify the possible solutions and determine the consequences of various options due to the proposed set of criteria. Introdução: O Núcleo de Ensaios Clínicos da Bahia conta com estrutura física implantada, potenciais pesquisadores em diversas especialidades e equipe capacitada para execução de protocolos de pesquisa. Apesar disso, possui reduzido número de projetos em andamento e consequentemente, sub-utilização da capacidade instalada. Objetivo: Diagnosticar a situação atual da pesquisa clínica no Hospital Universitário Professor Edgard Santos, identificar os fatores que viabilizam o efetivo desenvolvimento das atividades de pesquisa e elaborar um plano de gestão para reestruturação do Núcleo. Métodos: Estudo observacional e descritivo realizado no Hospital Universitário Professor Edgard santos, em três fases: revisão documental; observação direta da estrutura física e situação de recursos humanos e, entrevista com pesquisadores líderes de grupos de pesquisa clínica do hospital. Resultados: Foram identificados documentos relativos aos Procedimentos Operacionais Padrão das atividades de pesquisa, documento normativo da pesquisa clínica e fluxogramas de processos prioritários. Foram registradas no hospital 109 pesquisas clínicas em 2016 e 90, em 2017 Foram executados 16 protocolos de pesquisa clínica no Núcleo de Ensaios Clínicos em 2017, grande parte do grupo da Hepatologia e com patrocínio da indústria farmacêutica. Estruturalmente o Núcleo está dividido em área administrativa e clínica compartilhada com serviços assistenciais e conta com equipe composta por 8 profissionais. Foram identificados 14 pesquisadores líderes de grupo de pesquisa clínica no hospital e entrevistados 9 desses pesquisadores. A partir das entrevistas, foi elaborada a Matriz SWOT e construído o Mapa Estratégico do Núcleo de Ensaios Clínicos da Bahia, baseado no Balanced Scorecard, com 12 objetivos estratégicos, acompanhados de um Plano de Ação com 12 metas e 35 iniciativas para alcance dos objetivos traçados.Conclusão: O desenvolvimento do planejamento estratégico do Núcleo, pelo mapeamento da pesquisa na instituição poderá auxiliar a alavancar a execução de protocolos clínicos no hospital, permitindo o acesso de pacientes às novas tecnologias não disponíveis no mercado.
Introduction: The Center for Clinical Trials in Bahia has an implanted physical structure, potential researchers in several specialties and a team capable of carrying out research protocols. Despite this, it has a small number of projects in progress and, consequently, underutilization of installed capacity. Objective: To diagnose the current situation of clinical research at the University Hospital Professor Edgard Santos, to identify the factors that make feasible the effective development of research activities and to elaborate a management plan for the restructuring of the Nucleus. Methods: Observational and descriptive study conducted at the University Hospital Professor Edgard santos, in three phases: documentary review; direct observation of the physical structure and human resources situation, and interview with leading researchers from the hospital's clinical research groups. Results: Documents related to the Standard Operational Procedures of the research activities, normative document of clinical research and priority process flowcharts were identified. A total of 109 clinical trials were registered in the hospital in 2016 and 90 in 2017 Sixteen clinical research protocols were performed in the Clinical Trials Nucleus in 2017, a large part of the Hepatology group and sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry. Structurally the Nucleus is divided into administrative and clinical area shared with care services and has a team composed of 8 professionals. We identified 14 leading researchers from the clinical research group at the hospital and interviewed 9 of these researchers. Based on the interviews, the SWOT Matrix was elaborated and the Strategic Map of the Clinical Trials Nucleus of Bahia, based on the Balanced Scorecard, was constructed, with 12 strategic objectives, accompanied by an Action Plan with 12 goals and 35 initiatives to reach the objectives outlined . Conclusion: The development of the Center's strategic planning, by mapping the research in the institution, can help to leverage the execution of clinical protocols in the hospital, allowing patients access to new technologies not available in the market.

Research in patient education suggests that tailored educational materials can improve patient's understanding of a treatment plan and help to achieve patient engagement and compliance. The goal of the HealthDoc Project has been the creation of automated Natural Language Generation systems for producing educational materials that are tailored to an individual patient's medical condition and personal situation. The project has so far focused on developing computational linguistic tools needed to author tailorable content from which customized versions could be generated. Also the HealthDoc model of document generation assumes the existence of previously authored textual material. Therefore, a new approach is needed to construct these materials and ensure that the relevant medical knowledge will be captured and delivered to the patient by providing a means to assist the health care professionals in directly authoring the required domain knowledge.

We have used constructivist educational theory and knowledge-level modelling to define a new approach incorporating Patient-centric and Behaviour-modifying Educational Model (PBEM) and a knowledge-acquisition framework. Unlike traditional approaches, in which all patients are treated alike in terms of the medical information provided, our new model takes into account characteristics of individual patients. This facilitates the patient's assimilation of relevant information pertaining to her behaviour and health. As the information provided must address the various concerns of different stakeholders, and different patients have different concerns and concern intensities, a knowledge-acquisition framework was developed to provide a structure for patient knowledge acquisition. This framework includes the following components: a Strategic Model, a Concerns Model, and an Interrogation-based knowledge-acquisition Tool. The tool is intended to be used directly by health care professionals and to assist them in formulating, structuring, representing, and articulating their domain knowledge. This research work explores a new field, knowledge-level modelling, for generating patient-tailored educational materials and provides guidelines to implementing such a knowledge-acquisition tool.

In the context of sustainable development, evaluations have particularly high relevance as complex issues have to be dealt with generally over an extended period of time. Furthermore, there is a growing demand to evaluate against the concept of sustainable development. Especially evaluations with sustainable development are a rather new type of evaluation, as the source of its evaluation questions and the criteria applied are rooted in the concept of sustainable development. Sustainability of a specific project or process is often highly case specific as sustainable development is determined by many often unique issues. However, evaluations would be highly inefficient, if they would have to be newly designed in every case. Thus it is necessary to determine and utilize the major issues for evaluations with sustainable development. This paper is part of a series of three papers - which can be used independently - that present the major common issues for evaluations with sustainable development in a Tool Box. The results presented here are based on outcomes of a research project funded by the "Austrian Science Fund". This paper includes the "strategic orientation tool", which was developed as a tool for reflection and decision upon the general outline of an evaluation with sustainable development. It helps to define a design- frame with respect to its information-focus, scope and utilization. The core of the tool is a matrix that is based on two key- functions. On the one hand it defines which contents should be assessed: "What is the object of evaluation?". Dans un contexte économique mondialisé, les prises de position d’achat et/ou de vente sur les marchés financiers obéissent à des logiques qui échappent parfois à la rationalité (bulle spéculative…). Les prévisionnistes et les analystes financiers mobilisent une boite à outil statistique pour connaître les tendances futures à partir de l’étude des tendances passées. Cette boite à outils repose sur l’hypothèse de normalité des lois statistiques sous jacentes ce qui autorise des logiques d’inférence statistique, de test, de corrélation... On a pu observer par le passé que les résultats de ces projections ont souvent été miss à défaut : la crise financière que nous traversons correspond par exemple à un choc difficilement prévisible même s’il fait l’objet d’une rationalisation a posteriori. Notre objectif, partant de ce constat, est de renouveler les approches traditionnelles des prévisionnistes et analystes financiers en mobilisant deux approches complémentaires : l’intelligence économique appliquée au domaine financier et l’utilisation de techniques modernes de gestion de l’imprévisible. Dans ce travail interdisciplinaire, notre approche s’inspire tout d’abord du concept d’image, de réputation d'une entreprise cible et de la démarche du cycle de renseignement issue de l’approche de l’intelligence économique. De plus, nous pouvons compléter notre démarche à travers les travaux de Nassim Nicolas Taleb. Nous mobilisons enfin le concept de force de situation (François Julien) pour renforcer la décision des investisseurs institutionnels en situation d’incertitude. Pour valider notre contribution théorique, nous avons choisi le Vietnam comme terrain de recherche. A partir d’une approche qualitative conduite auprès de gérants de portefeuilles Vietnamiens, nous avons pu connaître mieux leurs pratiques de prises de décisions, les critères d’évaluation d’investissement différents issus des analyses de matrices stratégiques, leur perception de la réputation et le rôle de l’intelligence financière dans leur processus d’investissement. Nous proposons alors une méthode qualitative reposant sur la réputation pour caractériser le degré de robustesse d’une organisation à des chocs et élaborons en outre un système de renseignement financier en prenant en compte la hiérarchie des critères d’évaluation d’investissement des gérants de portefeuilles Vietnamiens. In the context of economic globalization, the stand point of purchase and/or sale on the financial market obeys logics which escape sometimes rationality (speculative bubbles…).The forecasters and the financial analysts mobilize one statistical toolbox in order to know the future trends based on the study of the last trends.This toolbox builds on the assumption of normality of the statistical laws underlying which authorizes logics of statistical inference, test, correlation… We could observe in the past which the results of these projections were often failed:the financial crisis which we pass correspondent to a not easily foreseeable shock even if it is the object of a rationalization a posteriori. Our objective,on the basis of thisreport,is to renew the traditional approaches of the forecasters and financial analysts by mobilizing two complementary approaches: business intelligence applied to the financial field and the utilization of modern technologies of management of the unforeseeable risks.In this interdisciplinary work,our approaches are inspired,first of all concept oftheimage or of the reputation of a target company and approach of the intelligence cycle resulting from the approach of the business intelligence.Moreover,we can complete our approach through the principle of bounded rationality,that of the speculative bubble and that of the logic uncertain suggested by Nassim Nicolas Taleb. Finally, we mobilize the concept of force of situation(François Julien) in order to reinforce the decision of the institutional investors in uncertain situation.To validate our theoretical contribution,we chose Viet Nam as our ground of research.From a qualitative approach and based on experimentation ahead 5 Vietnamese portfolio managers, we could better know their practice of making decision, their different investment evaluation criteria, their perception of reputation and the role of the financial intelligence in their process of investment. Thus, we propose a qualitative method based on the reputation in order to characterize the degree of robustness of an organization faced to shocks and elaborate moreover a system of financial information by taking into account the hierarchy of the investment evaluation criteria of the Vietnamese portfolio managers. Subsequently, new strategy is created separately for different individual strategic business units. In the end, chosen strategies are developed into four parts with regards to marketing, finance, R&D and product portfolio.

H-matrices offer log-linear storage and computations costs, thanks to a controlled accuracy loss. This is the reason why they are specially suitable for Boundary Element Methods (BEM). Task-parallelism strategies are applied to tiled/block algorithms to provide powerful and efficient parallel solutions for multicore architectures. The main objective of this thesis is designing, implementing and evaluating parallel algorithms to operate efficiently with H-matrices in multicore architectures. The first contribution is a study in which we prove that task-parallelism is suitable for operating with H-matrices, while illustrating the difficulties of parallelizing its complex implementations. Afterwards, we explain how the OmpSs-2 programming model helped us avoid the described issues and attain a fair efficiency. Lastly, we explain the creation of the open source library H-Chameleon, based on Tile H-Matrices (a regularized version of H-matrices), which is competitive-with-pure-H-matrices precision and compression ratios, and leverages the benefits of tile algorithms applied to (regular) tiles.
Las H-Matrices presentan un coste de almacenamiento y cómputo logarítmico-lineal gracias a una pérdida de precisión controlable. Por ello, son apropiadas para los Métodos de Elementos de Contorno. Las estrategias de paralelismo de tareas, aplicadas a algoritmos a bloques, posibilitan soluciones paralelas eficientes para arquitecturas multinúcleo. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es diseñar, implementar y evaluar algoritmos paralelos para operar eficientemente con H-Matrices en arquitecturas multinúcleo. En la primera contribución de esta tesis demostramos que el paralelismo de tareas es apropiado para operar con H-Matrices, ilustrando también las dificultades de dichas implementaciones. A continuación, explicamos cómo el modelo de programación OmpSs-2 permite sortear dichas cuestiones para alcanzar una buena eficiencia. Finalmente, explicamos el diseño de H-Chameleon, una librería de código abierto basada en Tile H-Matrices (H-Matrices regularizadas), capaz de mantener un ratio de precisión y compresión competitivo con las H-Matrices puras, beneficiándose de los algoritmos a bloques (regulares).

The traditional direct transfer function control mode has been replaced by more complex – digitally implemented control methodologies. These methodologies allow for real time calculation of the optimal switching interval of each individual switch of the matrix converter. These new switching algorithms allow optimal performances, ensuring sinusoidal outputs at any desired power factor. This paper will first revise the underlying theory of matrix converters, then review the various control limitations and finally review the current control algorithms.

The output is a summary of its strenghts and weakness aspects, opportunities and threats. The suggest of strategy is presented by an extended marketing mix. The emphasis is placed first of all on product sphere. Il trattamento numerico dell'equazione di convezione-diffusione con le relative condizioni al bordo, comporta la risoluzione di sistemi lineari algebrici di grandi dimensioni in cui la matrice dei coefficienti è non simmetrica. Risolutori iterativi basati sul sottospazio di Krylov sono ampiamente utilizzati per questi sistemi lineari la cui risoluzione risulta particolarmente impegnativa nel caso di convezione dominante. In questa tesi vengono analizzate alcune strategie di precondizionamento, atte ad accelerare la convergenza di questi metodi iterativi. Vengono confrontati sperimentalmente precondizionatori molto noti come ILU e iterazioni di tipo inner-outer flessibile. Nel caso in cui i coefficienti del termine di convezione siano a variabili separabili, proponiamo una nuova strategia di precondizionamento basata sull'approssimazione, mediante equazione matriciale, dell'operatore differenziale di convezione-diffusione. L'azione di questo nuovo precondizionatore sfrutta in modo opportuno recenti risolutori efficienti per equazioni matriciali lineari. Vengono riportati numerosi esperimenti numerici per studiare la dipendenza della performance dei diversi risolutori dalla scelta del termine di convezione, e dai parametri di discretizzazione.

According to IDC reports, for the first time ever, the worldwide smartphone market shipped over 1 billion smartphones in 2013. Moreover, China has 750 million Internet population, which has 600 million people are using wireless devices. The IDC also predicts that 2014 will be sold 450 million smart phones in China; so that this merchant business in China is expected to be fierce and touchy. Though in the big smartphone market, the vendor with careless may lose its competitiveness in the market, such as Motorola and Nokia, the two major vendors at the early stage, losing the leading position because the business strategy have no change with times. Thus, the company's business strategy are led the fate of corporate success. This study proposed by using Strategic Matrix Analysis (SMA) to resolve the smart phone vendors' business strategy. In this study, the four companies selected as a case study and summarize the value units of the value-chain of the smartphone industry. Moreover, explore the vote of the value units while the companies proposing the business strategy, analyze and discuss their business strategy how the companies create and sustain their competitive advantage. This study found that the strategic elements in the business strategy of the different smartphone vendors are vary. Even using the same strategic elements, the practical approach in the smartphone vendor will be different with different conditions.
