This chapter focuses on representations of the fundamental group and the torsor of deformations. It considers the case of an affine scheme of a particular type, qualified also as small by Faltings. It introduces the notion of Dolbeault generalized representation and the companion notion of solvable Higgs module, and then constructs a natural equivalence between these two categories. It proves that this approach generalizes simultaneously Faltings' construction for small generalized representations and Hyodo's theory of p-adic variations of Hodge–Tate structures. This chapter examines the uneven terrain of economic success in Punata by focusing on the experiences of members of a group of more prosperous career chola and mestiza market women. In particular, it explores how these women sought to mitigate their fears of envy and sorcery through their religious devotion to an image of Saint James known as “Tata Bombori,” regarded as the patron saint of healers and sorcerers. The chapter begins with a discussion of how concerns about envy and sorcery and the risks they pose to health influenced local embodied understandings of emotional distress in Punata.

This chapter examines the different types of social forms found in insect taxa, from the relatively simple social behaviors of aggregating species, to the complex cooperative and altruistic interactions that frame cohesive communal and eusocial groups. The diverse patterns of insect social living are considered within an inclusive fitness framework, to explore the fundamental question of why social species can be so successful, but sociality itself is taxonomically rare. To answer this question requires consideration of the ecological, life history and behavioral drivers of social living, incl

If we have an algebraic cycle Z on X, taking spreads yields a cycle Ƶ on X. Applying Hodge theory to Ƶ on X gives invariants of the cycle. Another related situation is algebraic K-theory.
