Abstract:
Fifteen years of Michigan harvest data for highbush blueberry (Vacciniun corymbosum L.) were used in conjunction with daily maximum and minimum temperatures to determine appropriate heat-unit models for first-picking dates of 13 cultivars. For each cultivar, an optimal heat-unit model was chosen after evaluating the performance of a standard method with 72 combinations of three variables: a) starting date for the heat-unit accumulations (SDATE), b) low-temperature threshold (TLOW), and c) high-temperature threshold (THIGH). The optimal model sought to include the most important criteria values

A laboratory-scale evacuated tube solar collector (ETSCs) has been developed and tested for unloading conditions in Lanzhou, China. clear sky and cloudy conditions have been tested. Heat is generally considered instantaneous because it is a function of multiple instantaneous factors, like ambient temperature and solar radiation. The results show a clear sky day with a maximum and average value of ambient temperature, outlet, inlet, and solar radiation of 12 and -60C, 56 and 310C, 69 and 340C, 931 and 576W/m2, respectively, while a cloudy day was eight and -30C and 861.2 and 449W/m2 respectivel

Introduction: Severe acute pancreatitis is considered "a true ICU disease" as all organs can be affected either initially or secondarily. The overall mortality rate for acute pancreatitis of all forms is 4-10%, which can reach 30% in severe forms. The aim of our study was to reveal and describe the prognostic, epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical, and evolutionary factors of severe acute pancreatitis. Patients and Methods: This retrospective study focused on cases of severe acute pancreatitis admitted to the intensive care unit of Moulay Ismail Military Hospital in Meknes, Morocco, between

1. We recorded single-unit activity from neurons of an output of the cerebellum, the fastigial nucleus, in two rhesus macaques while the monkeys tracked small moving targets with their eyes. Many neurons in the caudal part of the fastigial nucleus exhibited a modulation in their discharge rates when smooth-pursuit eye movements were elicited by either sinusoidal or step-ramp motions of a small target. 2. The pursuit direction that elicited the most vigorous modulation in unit firing to sinusoidal target motion could be horizontal, vertical, or oblique. Most often, the preferred direction was i

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia and a predictor of the complications of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVDs), particularly thromboembolic events and the progression of heart failure. We analyzed the determinants of the 13-year risk of incident AF in a Russian population cohort of middle and elderly age. A random population sample (n = 9360, age 45–69 years) was examined at baseline in 2003–2005 and reexamined in 2006–2008 and 2015–2017 in Novosibirsk (the HAPIEE study).
