The Virtual Fieldwork tool is an application developed in the game engine and 3D creation tool Unreal Engine. It is developed specifically for the ARENA2, a large, spatially immersive environment, and virtual reality using head-mounted displays. It contains a toolbox for quantitative measurements of visualized 3D model data. The application contains three different data sets from real-world use cases at GEOMAR.

Abstract:
The objective of this program was to install strain gage instrumentation on the PSF flow loop for use in future research and development programs. The strain gages were placed at critical locations on the flow loop to provide the opportunity for future measurement of pipeline strains during passage of in-line inspection tools, pipeline movement operations, pipe settlement, and general operations. As a demonstration of the data collection system, strain data were collected during passage of an in-line inspection tool.

Abstract:
The existing wisdom on efforts to promote accountability highlights the importance of ‘thinking and working politically’ (TWP) and moving from confrontational to collaborative approaches. This is particularly relevant given current trends, including closing civic space and the decline in international development cooperation funding for service delivery and accountability work. This report explores the innovative use of the board game Snakes and Ladders as a heuristic tool to analyse and encourage collaboration in Mozambique’s health sector. Drawing on the POTENCIAR programme, a UK aid-funded

Case study of continental-scale hydrologic modeling’s ability to predict daily streamflow percentiles for regulatory application. Engineer Research and Development Center (U.S.), 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.21079/11681/49371.

Abstract:
Regulatory practitioners use hydroclimatic data to provide context to observations typically collected through field site visits and aerial imagery analysis. In the absence of site-specific data, regulatory practitioners must use proxy hydroclimatic data and models to assess a stream's hydroclimatology. One intent of current-generation continental-scale hydrologic models is to provide such hydrologic context to ungaged watersheds. In this study, the ability of two state-of-the-art, operational, continental-scale hydrologic modeling frameworks, the National Water Model and the Group on Earth Ob

Nowadays, social media, ICT, mobile technologies and applications are increasingly used as tools for communication, interaction, building up social skills and unique learning environments. One of the latest trends observed in education is an attempt to streamline the learning process by applying educational digital games. Despite numerous research data, that confirms the positive effects of digital games, their integration into formal educational contexts is still relatively low. The purpose of this article is to analyze, discuss and conclude what is necessary to start using games as an instru

Abstract:
The original project had four specific objectives: (1) To complete the development of a radioimmunoassay for bovine leptin; (2) To characterize the leptin system in lactating dairy cows during the transition from pregnancy to lactation; (3) To identify endocrine factors regulating the production of leptin by bovine adipose tissue; (4) To study the actions of leptin on bovine adipose and mammary tissues in vitro. However, BARD funded only the development of the bovine leptin RIA (Objective 1) for a single year. This report describes our work in completing this objective. Leptin, a protein hormo
