AbstractWith growing interest in creative learning in recent years, this paper sought to define creative learning through the design of learning spaces. Two learner groups were studied for their interactions with peers, educators, and their spaces—design students at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, a traditional architectural studio environment, and student entrepreneurs at the Harvard Innovation Lab, a startup venture incubator. The result was a new design framework called the creative learning spiral, which groups creative learning into four types of activities: sparking, making, grazing, socializing. The open layouts of both settings facilitated social learning activities of sparking, grazing, and socializing, whereas making time required students to create their own focused environments. The creative learning spiral can be used as a tool to assess the spatial needs of specific creative learning activities, in order to design environments that accommodate the needs of learners.

Playful representations of history are quite widespread in various types of modern toys and games. The author of this essay focused specifically on commercially available construction sets inspired by Greek antiquity. In order to acquire an understanding of user behaviour vis à vis such playthings, she employed as sources consumer reactions published on on line marketplaces. User generated feedback that is available on the Internet clearly offers an extremely rich and relatively untapped resource for researchers of user experiences. The on line exploration was complemented by a self study of using one of these sets to construct a mini Parthenon; it was a pleasurable and rewarding activity The combined consideration of consumer comments and self study suggest that the experience of making miniature replicas of ancient buildings is mostly positive for a wide range of users, as it successfully combines entertainment with learning. Major shifts have occurred in the increasing amount of free time and its democratization. The free time or leisure time is understood only just as a supplement or the rest after work; however, it has its intrinsic value, carries potential of freedom, self-realization, fun and relax. The text deals with leisure time functions and its meaning for individuals and complete family. It highlights issues that are connected with spending of leisure time. In the second part of the chapter, there are results of survey, which was mapping of family spending of free time, its amount and fulfilment. In all the surveyed countries, spending of leisure time has proved to be an important perquisite for family life satisfaction. Good teaching practices are the crux of student education and require constant evaluation to meet current generations' learning needs. Flipped classrooms have sought a foothold in higher education to provide opportunities for deep learning through the delivery of content online prior to attending class while having activities related to processing and applying the information during class. Using a large-scale, multi-institution study of faculty teaching flipped courses, this study empirically links flipped procedures to other forms of effective educational practice and additionally focuses on the motivations and impacts on the faculty side of this pedagogical practice. Findings indicate numerous learning and development benefits for students with implications for supporting and motivating faculty across disciplines, faculty identities, and course types.

Abstract:
Digital consumer devices have penetrated our everyday lives, providing a platform to—with great efficiency and easiness—solve problems, communicate and exchange information, participate in remote activities, and even socialize. This increasing popularity provides the impetus for a rising dependency, which translates into a growing number of hours spent with the various types of media available. However, while the time we dedicate to media increases (at the cost of other activities), the number of hours that we have available (per day, per week, per month, etc.) cannot, giving rise to media multitasking behaviors. Some studies suggest that time orientation—either as a cultural construct or an individual preference—can influence one's media use habits, predicting (or not) multiple media use. There are, however, other perspectives suggesting that media use can actually affect one's time orientation. This chapter will attempt to assess both of these outlooks.

Using stratified, purposive, and networking technique, the online opened-ended questions responses were gathered from the sample of 258. The findings confirmed that there is no age of retirement. Aging population contributions are significant and termed in this study as ‘knowledge-gem' (GK). The older population rate is increasing at a greater pace in the emerging economies in comparison to developed economies. Interestingly, the social activities remain constant in both types of economies. Post-retirement, elderly women are significant contributors to social activities while men have significant contribution to economic activities. From the cultural perspective, the aging population is mainly found in the ‘collectivism' on the grid-group cultural (GGC) model. The aging population is facing the challenges of in-equalities based on gender, class, and race in both developed and less-developed economies.

Abstract:
This chapter lays out the context of research in Morocco and the general situation of migrants in the country. In the beginning, it provides a general overview about the characteristics of Morocco’s migrant population. It explores the different types of migrants which Morocco is hosting, as well as their socio-economic and legal statuses. Furthermore, the chapter gives a short overview of new and old migration policies and their connections with EU migration policy and development cooperation. After that, important state-and non-state actors involved in migration management in Morocco are introduced. The chapter focuses on the structural conditions which regulate migration – both on national and international level- and how these are “framed” in policy talk. By doing this, the chapter uncovers the contradictions between the theoretical justifications for non-state and state actors’ decisions and activities in migration management in Morocco and those pursued by migrants themselves.

Abstract:
Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 talks about the hazardous units of the employability and prohibit the employers to employ children in them and regulate employability of children in the non-hazardous units. Law has laid emphasis on physical injury that effects the physiology of a child but the “psychological injury” is left as such. Psychological injury can have disastrous impact to shape the personality of a child. The paper reviewed types of non–hazardous occupations where children are involved at work, methods, Ericson's developmental stages of children affected by child's labour activities, assessing psychological effects, constitutional provisions; psychosocial analysis, and concluded that once a child gets employed he or she loses the freedom to spend his or her time by his own free will.

The extent of technology usage for managing teaching workloads is not completely known, but often extrapolated or inferred by academics’ use of other technologies. This paper explores technology adoption, and attitudes toward use of technology by Australian university academics. Abstract The nuclear industry has recently been shifting to value-based maintenance in order to keep nuclear power competitive in the power generation market. A key challenge in value-based maintenance is the optimization of a maintenance schedule. With most components having ten to fifteen available maintenances, the complexity of the optimization grows quite quickly. This paper presents a methodology for combining maintenance effectiveness, cost estimates, failure impacts, and overall reliability data to estimate an expected life cycle cost (LCC) for a component. Similarly, the need to gather data to inform decision makers, especially in the fishing industry, has become essential to provide advice on the economic impact on fishing fleets both in terms of alternative conservation measures (e.g. effort limitations, temporal and spatial closures) as well as the overlap with other activities, thereby allowing

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is a fiber optic sensing system that is used for vibration monitoring. At a minimum, DAS is composed of a fiber optic cable and an optic analyzer called an interrogator.
