Nerol na dose de 60 mg/Kg por via oral exerceu proteção contra lesão gástrica induzida por etanol e por droga anti-inflamatória não esteróide (DAINE) em ratos, mas não protegeu contra úlcera duodenal induzida por cisteamina.
