Abstract:
Abstract A common problem in some State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines is the accumulation of campus solid wastes. A popular approach to minimizing this problem is the application of 3Rs (Re-use, Recycle, Reduce). These 3Rs are used by Cebu Technological University-Main Campus at Cebu City, Philippines, to foster Green Technology and promote a circular economy. The application of 3Rs is very timely since some classrooms are still traditional with no complete instructional equipment and devices to fortify instructional delivery. Hence, this paper’s ultimate intention is to

Abstract: Critical thinking skills are important skills in life that are one of the focuses of 21st century learning. Critical thinking skills are skills that focus on making decisions about what to do and what to believe. To be able to make decisions, a person must process the information he obtains, that is, organize, analyze, and evaluate. The transfer of knowledge in universities that occurs at this time is only about knowledge about the material in books and does not pay attention to how the application of this knowledge is in daily life. Therefore, there is a need for efforts to include

Abstract:
Systematic, quantitative evidence on education system coherence is limited. Prior research has indicated alignment of instructional components, such as curriculum standards, assessments, and teachers’ instruction, is important for children’s learning. This study uses the Surveys of Enacted Curriculum methodology to investigate alignment of instructional components in Nigeria's primary education system. The study analyzes curriculum standards, national exams, and classroom instructional content for mathematics and English language across all six primary-level grades. We find that key foundation

In this context, the course planning, divided into three specific stages, involved several steps. First, the role of the teacher and students in the process of learning and teaching is very important, and it was defined based on the postulates of some authors. Over the last 50 years, schooling has expanded dramatically in most low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). However, while children are in school more than ever before, on average, over 50% of them are not acquiring foundational literacy and numeracy skills, and that proportion is expected to increase to 70% over the coming years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.1 Although a myriad of factors contributes to this learning poverty, the role of language is essential as all learning happens in and through language. This study responded to one key research question: What are the accountability relationships between the actors in implementing the 3Rs curriculum reform? A qualitative research approach informed the study, using key informant interviews, focus group discussion and document review. The data were analysed using thematic and content analysis. The study established that the key actors in implementing the 3Rs curriculum are the government institutions and the development partners. These actors provide teaching, learning materials and support in the provision of in-service teacher training. Yet, th

This field review explores how the benefits of access to computing for racialized and minoritized communities has become an accepted fact in policy and research, despite decades of evidence that technical fixes do not solve the kinds of complex social problems that disproportionately affect these communities.
