Negation turns to be a pragmatic, semantic, morphologic and syntactic category, therefore it can be found in all languages. Every language possesses affirmative and negative forms of expression. Negation, as an interdisciplinary science, is related to linguistics, philosophy, logic, psychology, mathematics etc. This fact explains exceptional status in the scientific world picture. Modern linguistics’ studies focus on an integrated approach to the language. It seems to be viewed not only as a distinct semiotic system, but also as the means of communication, thinking and understanding th

This investigation examined the impact of a potent source of social influence—the placebo—on verbal and nonverbal pain expression. Placebos exert a powerful influence on pain in both clinical and laboratory settings; nevertheless, the placebo remains a poorly understood phenomenon. In the present study the placebo was employed as a social influence designed to alter subjects' expectations or beliefs concerning their response to a noxious event. Furthermore, an attempt was made to classically condition a placebo response in accordance with the conditioning theory of placebo. The pain stimulus c

Abstract:
Abstract:
Excellent nonverbal communications between doctors and patients are essential for having an effective medical consultation. Current studies usually work on face-to-face doctor-patient communications and manually measure the nonverbal behaviors for doctors or students; however, the main challenge of those methods is to automatize the detection method. In the past decade, new technologies, such as video conferencing, transformed medical communication. Therefore, it is better to do nonverbal behavior analyses via computer vision technologies, which can benefit the video-conferencing medical consu

The purpose of this study was to investigate the extent to which a non-verbal test of intelligence, the Test of Non-Verbal Intelligence (TONI), may be used for assessing intellectual abilities of children in India. This investigation is considered important since current instruments used in India were developed several years ago and do not adequately reflect present standards of performance. Further, current instruments do not demonstrate adequate validity, as procedures for development and cultural transport were frequently not in adherence to recommended guidelines for such practice. Abstract:
The purpose of this research has been to determine the influence of verbal and nonverbal behavior on power and status within small groups. The interactions which took place within five small groups of students in a middle school spatial reasoning elective were analyzed. Verbal responses to requests for help were analyzed using sequential analysis software. Results indicated that the identity of the child asking a question or requesting help in some form or another is a better predictor of whether he/she will receive help than the type of questions he/she asks. Nonverbal behavior was analyzed f
