However, these videos can often be lengthy and time-consuming, making it difficult for learners to obtain the key information they need. In this study, we propose an approach that leverages automatic summarization and language models to generate concise and informative summaries of instructional videos. To enhance the performance of the summarization algorithm, we also incorporate video attributes that provide contextual information about the video content. Using a dataset of computer networking

Foreign language is an important thing in this day and age, this is because language is an important instrument to communicate. To overcome the language differences of every country in the world in communicating, English is used as an international language. English is one of the international languages needed in communication and has a very important role in establishing relations with other nations in this era. Vocational students should know how to make presentations using English. But in reality, there are still many students who have not been able to use English properly. This study aims

Video materials are used more frequently in English as a foreign language (EFL) classes since they are perceived to be effective. However, using video materials is challenging because it requires EFL teachers’ abilities to determine the videos' suitability for their learners. As a result, this study was conducted qualitatively to listen to language learners’ voices about using video materials in their English classes. There were six hypotheses related to the use of video materials in the Vietnamese context. Fine focus-group interviews were organized to collect data from 25 English students lea

This study aims to capture the stance of YouTube video content creators regarding the use of generative AI for language learning. Opinion mining and sentiment analysis techniques were employed to analyse the content, comments, and transcriptions of 66 YouTube videos published from December 2022 to October 2023. The findings revealed that most videos focused on speaking (n = 40) and writing skills (n = 24), with fewer videos addressing listening (n = 3) and reading (n = 19) skills. Sentiment analysis showed that videos predominantly conveyed optimistic (n = 42) and analytical (n = 17) sentiment

Video summarization aims to create short, accurate, and cohesive summaries of longer videos. Despite the existence of various video summarization datasets, a notable limitation is their limited amount of source videos, which hampers the effective training of advanced large vision-language models (VLMs). Additionally, most existing datasets are created for video-to-video summarization, overlooking the contemporary need for multimodal video content summarization. Recent efforts have been made to expand from unimodal to multimodal video summarization, categorizing the task into three sub-tasks ba

We combine the output of state-of-the-art object and activity detectors with "real-world' knowledge to select the most probable subject-verb-object triplet for describing a video. We show that this knowledge, automatically mined from web-scale text corpora, enhances the triplet selection algorithm by providing it contextual information and leads to a four-fold increase in activity identification.
