Objective: To investigate the efficacy of whole-brain radiotherapy combined with supplemental precision radiotherapy compared to whole-brain radiotherapy alone for brain metastasis. Methods: Twenty-six cases of patients with brain metastasis were observed from January 2020 to June 2023. Thirteen cases each were randomly assigned to the observation group and the control group. The patients in the observation group received whole-brain radiotherapy combined with supplemental precision radiotherapy, while those in the control group received only whole-brain radiotherapy. Abstract AIMS Cerebral metastases from extra-cranial primary cancer carries a poor prognosis. For patients in whom surgical resection or SRS are not suitable, local control rates are poor. There is considerable debate surrounding the value of whole brain radiotherapy in this patient cohort in terms of local control, survival and functional status. We aimed to measure survival in patients receiving whole brain radiotherapy at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Radiation therapy is a most effective therapy for brain metastases. The literature indicates the hippocampus in the brain plays the major functional role of memory and spatial orientation. Hippocampal-sparing technique can reduce the dose of hippocampus in whole brain radiation therapy. The quality of life can be much improved without loss of brain and cognitive functions a

Brain metastasis is a common clinical challenge in cancer patients, particularly those with lung cancer, breast cancer, and melanoma. The prognosis is poor, with median overall survival times measured in months for most patient populations. Established treatments include neurosurgical resection, radiotherapy (including stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy, whole-brain radiotherapy, and new radiation techniques), and supportive care measures. Surgery and radiotherapy for cancers can disrupt mental health through direct biological mechanisms in addition to the well-described psychological distress associated with the physical consequences of treatment. Upper bowel surgery and bilateral oophorectomy both frequently provoke psychopathology. Total gastrectomy, or ileal resection, causes an inevitable vitamin B12 deficiency. The molecular mechanisms by which these surgical treatments provoke depressive symptoms, or even a dementia, are considered. Raised homocysteine levels and reduced SAM availability are involved. Brain tumour segmentation is a hard and time-consuming task to be conducted in the process of radiotherapy planning. Deep Learning (DL) applications have a significant improvement in image segmentation tasks. In this work, we apply DL models such as 2D and 2.5D U-NET to the segmentation task of a brain tumour on the BraTS 2021 dataset and our local dataset. The 2.5D network is a modified version of 2D U-NET by using three slices as an input for each magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence. We achieve the best segmentation results with 2.5D U-NET on BraTS with Dice scores of 86.97%, 91.27% an
