ABSTRACT: The Shahejie shale oil reservoir of the Jiyang Depression exhibits lithological homogeneity with finely developed bedding planes (BPs). BPs are prone to open and leak off during hydraulic fracturing, inhibiting vertical fracture propagation. Understanding the characteristics of BP development on fracture propagation is crucial for optimizing hydraulic fracturing strategies. This study conducts hydraulic fracturing experiments using shale cores with varying BP characteristics, employing a triaxial hydraulic fracturing simulation system combined with CT scan analysis. However, injection of SC-CO2 can cause a series of physical and chemical interactions with the pore brine and shale rock, leading to irreversible changes in the mechanical properties of the shale. To investigate changes in the mechanical properties of the shale that interacted with SC-CO2 and brine, Longmaxi shale samples were soaked in pure SC-CO2 and SC-CO2 + brine for seven days at 50 ° C and 15MPa. The supercritical CO2(SC-CO2) has the property of low viscosity, which can produce a complex fracture network in the reservoir under certain pressure and realize the commercial exploitation of shale oil. Based on a triaxial physical simulation device and Computed Tomography (CT) scan imaging, the different fracture expansion laws of layered shale during the fracturing process of the SC-CO2 and the slickwater are conducted. ABSTRACT Accurate identification and extraction of fractures in core scanning electron microscope (SEM) images are particularly important for understanding and evaluating fractures in rocks. At present, most of the fracture extraction methods do not take into account the characteristics of fractures extension trend and edge change, resulting in many noise points and breakpoints in the extracted fractures. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes a new method of core SEM image fracture extraction based on double-side inspection and morphological completion. Double-side inspection frac

Nonlinear pulse propagation and amplification in Erbium doped fibers (EDF) has arisen considerable attention [1-3]. Pulse propagation without amplification can be affected not only by nonlinear mechanisms such as self-phase modulation (SPM) and intrapulse stimulated Raman scattering (ISRS) [4], but also can be influenced by the dopant susceptibility [2,3]. Recently Zhu and Sibbett [3] described results of pulse propagation in EDF in the femtosecond regime, without amplification, but the observed spectral and temporal features have not been fully explained.
