Metallic bipolar plates are often used in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) due to their facile manufacturing process, high electrical and thermal conductivity, and mechanical strength. [1] Titanium is particularly popular due to its corrosion-resistive properties which come from a naturally occurring passive oxide layer on its surface. However, the naturally occurring passive film cannot fully withstand the acidic environment of an operating PEMFC. And inherently, without this protective layer; corrosion will inevitably occur. AN9025, an oral RAS (ON) inhibitor, with best-in-class potential, demonstrates picomolar potency against RAS-dependent tumor cell lines, showing greater potency than a benchmark molecule. AN9025 binds to cyclophilin A (CypA) to form a binary complex which then engages the RAS (ON) protein to create a tri-complex that effectively inhibits downstream signaling pathways such as MAPK and PI3K/AKT. Preclinical characterization shows that AN9025 binds to CypA with high affinity (KD=3.2 nM) a

Abstract The Hippo signaling pathway is critical for the regulation of organ development, tissue homeostasis, and tumorigenesis by controlling the activation status of yes-associated protein (YAP) or its homolog PDZ-binding motif (TAZ). As a major downstream effector, the transcription factor TEAD is activated by forming a complex with YAP/TAZ. Hippo pathway aberrations, such as NF2-deficiency or LATS1/2 mutations leading to hyperactivation of YAP/TAZ and subsequent activation of TEAD, have been reported in many cancers, including mesothelioma, meningioma, soft tissue sarcoma and non-small cel

Abstract Many solid tumors have alterations in phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) signaling. These can occur through mutation of the p110alpha and p85alpha proteins of PI3Kalpha itself as well as through alterations to upstream receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and phosphatases of PIP3, including PTEN. As a whole, PI3K signaling is one of the most frequently altered in cancer. These mutations lead to activation of the PI3K complex and to constitutive downstream signaling. This signaling allows cells to enter a pro-growth and pro-survival state which is beneficial to the cancer cells. The structur

Abstract Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase-2 (SHP-2) is a key node in the RAS signaling pathway. Allosteric inhibition of SHP2 phosphatase is a potential therapeutic strategy for cancers harboring oncogenic mutations in the KRAS pathway. SHP2 also participates in the signal transduction downstream of regulatory immunoreceptors, and it has been shown in preclinical models that SHP2 inhibition drives anti-tumor immunity through modulation of both innate and adaptive mechanism. BPI-442096 is a potent, selective, and orally bioavailable small molecule SHP2 inhibitor. It exhibited

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis is a promising technology for sustainable hydrogen production. It offers high efficiency, compact design, and rapid response to fluctuating power sources. Central to this technology is the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), since it poses a major contribution to the cell overpotential and thus to the overall efficiency. Among various materials explored, iridium-based oxides are considered as the most advanced catalyst materials for oxygen evolution under acidic conditions.1 Recent research has focused on modifying these materials, with the aim of impro

Abstract Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is the most lethal subtype of lung cancers with few patients surviving more than 5 years from diagnosis. While SCLC initially responds well to standard chemotherapy treatment, chemotherapy-resistant recurrence is characteristic and available treatment options for recurrent and refractory diseases are limited. Immunotherapy as an alternative or additional treatment has been very successful in treating many cancers, yet it has shown disappointingly limited benefits in SCLC and notable treatment related toxicities have been observed.
