In diesem Aufsatz wird die Figur des Gottes Tarhuntaš auf dem zwei figurigen Felsrelief von İvriz untersucht, und vor allem wird versucht das Attribut des Gottes zu deuten.Dem Felsrelief des “Quellheiligtums’ von İvriz (Abb 1) wurden seit seiner Entdeckung im 17. Jh. bereits zahlreiche, verschiedenartige Untersuchungen gewidmet. Die Attribute des dort dargestellten Gottes Tarhuntaš, die wichtige Hinweise zur Bestimmung der Funktion ihres Trägers liefern könnten, blieben davon jedoch lange Zeit unberührt. Ihre Erforschung wurde sehr spät durch R D Barnett eingeleitet, der ihnen erstmalig Beachtung schenkte: Sein Interesse galt vorrangig dem spiralförmig gerillten Gegenstand, der unter dem linken Ellbogen des Gottes zum Vorschein kommt (Abb 2). Barnett zufolge gehörte er zum ‘Knauf eines Schwertes, der in Form eines Adler- oder Vogelkopfes gestaltet ist’. Als erste Untersuchung zu diesem Thema überhaupt war diese Arbeit Barnetts auch für spätere Forschungen von grundlegender Bedeutung.

Konya'nın Halkapınar ilçesi sınırlarındaki Ambarderesi Vadisinin yamacında İvriz'deki kral Warpalawas'ın anıtsal kaya kabartmasının yakın bir benzeri bulunmaktadır. Bunun karşı yamacında ise yerel halk tarafından Kızlar Oğlanlar Sarayı olarak adlandırılan Orta Bizans Dönemine ait manastırın kalıntıları konumlanmıştır. Girişi kilisenin apsisinin yaklaşık 50 m kuzeyinde bulunan doğal mağara Konya Ereğli Yüzey Araştırma Projesi (KEYAR) çerçevesinde 2016 yılı yüzey araştırması sezonunda ilk defa incelenmiş ve belgelenmiştir. Bu makalede, 2014-2016 arazi çalışmalarında Halkapınar ilçesinde yapılan sistematik yüzey araştırmaları sonuçları ve bölgenin Tunç - Demir Çağı yerleşimleri tartışılmaktadır. Yüzey araştırması kapsamında İvriz'de, Ambarderesi'nde ve mağarada gerçekleştirilen yüzey araştırmalarından elde edilen bulgular sunularak, mağaranın ve girişinde bulunan libasyon çukurunun önemi Geç Hitit Dönemi kültsel arınma ve temizlenme ritüelleri ile ilişkisi tartışılacaktır.

Анотація:
A new species of freshwater Amphipod, Gammarus topkarai sp. nov., collected from Ivriz Creek, Tarsus Province, South Anatolia, is described and illustrated. The new species belongs to Gammarus pulex-group and shows similar characteristic features with Gammarus agrarius G. S. Karaman, 1973. Absence of well developed dorsal elevations on the urosome segments, smaller body length and relatively lower endopod/exopod ratio of third uropod are the most obvious features differ from G. agrarius. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of new species are given and differences from related species are discussed. An updated identification key of Gammarus taxa reported from Turkey, up to date, was also presented.

Анотація:
Various experimental methods (XRD, FTIR, SAXS, DLS and SEM) were used to investigate structures of the silk samples weaved by spiders in Turkey. Silk samples were collected from the natural habitats belonging to the spider species (i.e., Near Salt Lake/şereflikoçhisar, İvriz Dam/Ereǧli-Konya, Karataş Lake/Burdur and several locations in Black Sea Region of Turkey). Among all collected species, Araneidae(Araneus angulatus, Argiope bruennichi, Argiope lobata, Larinoides cornutus), Eresidae(Eresus cinnaberinus), Agelenidae(Agelena labyrinthica), Oecobidae(Uroctea durandi), Miturgidae(Cheiracanthium erraticum), Salticidae(Heliophanus flavipes, Philaeus chrysops), Theridiidae(Steatoda paykulliana)and Gnaphosidae were found significant amongst other spider species. Structural differences and similarities of these species were reported. Diameter range of draglines, inter crystallite distance of nano-size structures, mean size range of nano-structure aggregations, crystallite size range, information about protein content were obtained. The mechanical properties of some silk fibers were also investigated.

Le billard est un système dynamique décrivant le mouvement d’une particule sans masse ni volume qui se déplace sans frottements à l’intérieur d’un domaine délimité par une paroi réfléchissante. Elle est réfléchie sur la paroi selon la loi angle d’incidence = angle de réflexion. Lorsque sa trajectoire se répète on parle d’orbite périodique. Cette thèse s’intéresse à deux généralisations de ces billards : les billards projectifs et les billards complexes. Les billards projectifs, introduits et étudiés par Tabachnikov, se présentent comme des domaines dont le bord est muni d’un champ de droites transverses. Les billards complexes, introduits et étudiés par Glutsyuk, sont une généralisation naturelle du billard classique au plan Euclidien complexifié. La thèse étudie ces billards et souligne qu’ils fournissent des résultats sur les billards classiques. Elle explore l’analogue de la conjecture de Ivrii pour les billards projectifs, classifiant ceux qui possèdent des ouverts d’orbites triangulaires : les billards dits droit-sphériques et obtenus à partir d’exemples de billards sur la sphère de dimension 2 sont les seuls ayant cette propriété. La preuve de ce résultat utilise notamment les systèmes Pfaffiens. De nombreux contre-exemples à la conjecture de Ivrii sont aussi donnés pour plus de trois réflexions dans la classe des billards projectifs : il s’agit de billards projectifs construits dans des polygones possédant des ouverts d’orbites périodiques de période paire. Cette thèse analyse aussi l’existence de caustiques. Elle propose une étude des caustiques dites complexes du billard dans une conique complexifiée : une telle conique admet pour caustiques complexes le faisceau de coniques homofocales complexes, et les caustiques complexes des orbites périodiques d’une période donnée sont plus nombreuses que les caustiques du billard classique. Il est aussi question des caustiques de billard en dimension au moins 3 : une quadrique d’un faisceau de quadriques admet une structure de billard projectif dont les quadriques du faisceau sont des caustiques. Il est alors montré qu’un argument avancé par Berger se généralise à l’étude des caustiques de billards projectifs en dimension au moins 3, et que cette généralisation s’applique à la classification des billards pseudo-Euclidiens possédant des caustiques
The billiard is a dynamical system describing the trajectory of an infinitely small particle moving without friction inside a domain bounded by a reflecting wall. When it hits the wall, theparticle is reflected following the optical law of reflection asserting that the angle of incidence= the angle of reflection. When the trajectory repeats itself, we speak of a periodic orbit. Thisthesis is about two generalizations of this classical billiard model : projective and complex billiards. The projective billiards were introduced and studied by Tabachnikov and can be defined as bounded domain whose boundary is endowed with a field of transverse lines. The complex billiards were introduced and studied by Glutsyuk and are a natural generalization ofthe classical billiard to the complexified Euclidean plane. This thesis studies these billiards and show how they provide results on classical billiards. An axis of study is Ivrii’s conjecture applied to projective billiards. The thesis presents the classification of projective billiards having open sets of triangular orbits: the so-called rights pherical billiards, obtained from some examples of billiards on the 2-dimensional sphere, arethe only projective billiards having this property. The proof of this result intensively usesPfaffian systems. Numerous counterexamples to Ivrii’s conjecture are also given in the class ofprojective billiards for more than 3 reflections: they are projective billiards in polygons owning open sets of periodic orbits of even period. The other axis of study is the existence of caustics. The thesis studies what are called the complex caustics of the billiard in a complexified conic: the conics of the latter’s pencil of complex confocal conics are complex caustics, and there are more complex caustics corresponding to periodic orbits of a given period than in the case of the classical billiard. Indimension at least 3, we show that a quadric of a pencil of quadrics can be endowed with astructure of projective billiard such that all quadrics of the pencil are caustics for the corresponding billiard structure. It is also proved that an argument used by Berger to study billiard having caustics in dimension at least 3 can be generalized to projective billiards, andthat this generalization applies to the classification of pseudo-Euclidean billiards having caustics

While there is increasing interest in the effect of landscape on ancient imagination, less attention has been paid to the impact of restless karst hydrology on ancient beliefs. By identifying shared themes, this study compares and contrasts the way Hittites and Aegean people in the Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages reshaped peripheral karst landscapes into physical and imagined transitional zones. Karst geology underpins much of the Aegean and Anatolian landscape, allowing subterranean zones to be visible and accessible above ground via caves, springs, sinking streams, sinkholes and other unusual natural formations. In both cultures, certain dynamic landscapes were considered to be sacred porous points where deities, daemons, heroes and mortals could transit between cosmic realms. Evidence suggests that Hittites and Aegean people interpreted dramatic karst landscapes as liminal thresholds and spaces situated between the world of humans and the world of deities. Part One investigates physical zones of transition via the karst ecosystems of rural sanctuaries. Part Two considers the creative interpretation in myth and iconography of karst phenomena into metaphysical zones of transition. The examples reveal the way in which Hittites and Aegean people built their concept of the sacred on the extraordinary characteristics of karst geology. Numinous karst landscapes provided validity and a familiar reference point for the creation of imagined worlds where mortal and divine could connect.

This chapter investigates how Mizraḥi writers spanning three generations explored the multivalent and highly contingent meanings of Arabic and of Hebrew in their work. It examines literary negotiations of Arabic, 'ivrit tiknit, and “immigrant Hebrew” in first-and second-generation fiction. The present analysis dwells on particularly creative and innovative uses of language, but embeds them within an argument about linguistic strategies in Mizraḥi literature more broadly. This discussion inevitably expands to include other regional languages as well as the European languages of the colonial past.
