EN : The text of the master's work consists of 84 pages, 75 sources. The object of the research is borrowed vocabulary of the modern Russian language. The subject of research is assimilation of borrowed vocabulary and linguistic elements, phonetic, morphological and lexical-semantic features of changes in Turkisms in modern Russian. The purpose is identification and systematic linguistic analysis of Turkic elements in Russian dictionaries, classification and definition of the largest thematic groups, comparison of the status of Turkisms in Russian and Russianisms in Turkic languages. The study is supposed to solve the following tasks: 1. To give the definition of Turkism and determine its place in the system of borrowed vocabulary of the modern Russian language. 2. Toreveal the ways and reasons for the penetration of Turkisms into Russian and Russianisms into Turkish.3. To characterize the words of Turkic origin in the lexocentric aspect. 4. To investigate the phonetic, morphological and lexical-semantic features of Turkisms. 5. To describe the thematic diversity and part-of-speech specificity. The relevance of the work is based on the lack of a comprehensive study of the process of interpenetration of the vocabulary of the Turkic and Russian languages. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the lexocentric approach – a systematic selection and analysis of not only Turkisms in the dictionaries of the Russian language, but also Russianisms in Turkic, on the example of Turkish, followed by tracking grammatical and semantic changes in thematic groups and determining the quantitative predominance of words, which made it possible to measure the index of the number penetrated words and suggest the intensity of influence on the recipient language in the period of globalization. The methods of research: descriptive, comparative, comparative-historical, statistical and continuous sampling of factual material. The scope materials of the research can be used in the comparative analysis of words in the process of teaching lexicology and lexicography to students of Russian studies or Turkic studies, arouse the interest of ethnographers and historians as representatives of related humanitarian disciplines, to be used as a theoretical basis for further research in the field of linguistics.

The main aim of this doctoral thesis is the analysis of the mission statements presented on the websites of the biggest Polish companies and the best higher education facilities. The analysis was conducted having regard to the roles of these self-presentation texts in public relations. A great attention was also paid to the linguistic devices used in the mission statements. The data collected facilitated the analysis of the pragmalinguistic features of the mission statements as well as it allowed to picture the similarities and the differences among the texts. Furthermore, the author was able to determine: how companies and higher education facilities define their missions, what image companies and higher education facilities want to present and thanks to what linguistic means and figures of speech they want reach out to their clients, what values companies and higher education facilities find crucial. The data collected comes from the websites of Polish companies and higher education facilities that have been placed in “500 Biggest Polish companies of 2012” run by Polityka – in this dissertation, first 100 companies were taken into account – and “The Best Higher Education Facilities of 2012” run by Perspektywy and Rzeczpospolita – here, all 88 schools of the list were taken into account. A detailed analysis allowed to classify all of the texts as one type of statement – the mission statement. Complimentary research methods allowed for a detailed description of all the texts. Semantic analysis, including structural semantics, was the best tool for critical analysis of dictionary entries and corpus data (HASK: pelcra.pl/jask_pl) which referred to phrases such as: mission, vision, strategy, and lexemes that play crucial semantic and pragmatic roles in the texts (the usage of testing sentences to determine the type of roles makes this part of the dissertation take on a cognitive approach). Conversely, the research methodology in text linguistics allowed for showing the pragmalinguistic meanings conveyed in the texts. The obtained data, thanks to the analysis presented in chapter 1, allowed the author to sort out the terminology with special reference to the terms: mission, vision, and strategy. The author had to review the meaning of these terms in texts concerning management and marketing, analyze the definitions presented in nine dictionaries of the Polish language, and check the quotations available in the lexical corpus. As a result of this research, there was established a definition of mission statement. In the 3 chapter of the doctoral dissertation there were distinguished the main functions of the mission statement. All of these functions play a role in creating the message and define whether it is going to be effective. Chapter 4 of this dissertation focuses on the presentation of the sender and the recipient of a message. An in-depth analysis of the texts discovered several linguistic strategies. Chapter 5 focuses on the language of value used in the mission statements. The author decided to incorporate the typology presented by Jadwiga Puzynina (1992), which was later developed. Additional metalanguage formulae allowed to identifying lexeme as belonging to a given value category. Sorting out lexemes referring to values in mission statements, as well as applying formulae revealed a strong position of instrumental values. While conducting the analysis of the mission statements, there were also taken into consideration other genres and types of text. They are introduced in chapter 6. The most prominent are the elements of ritual language. They are specific for business language and resemble newspeak. Another crucial element that is included are slogans. The concluding chapter of this doctoral dissertation stresses the importance of using adequate linguistic devices in order to successfully present the institutions mission and to assign the mission statements a new meaning.
