ABSTRACT Based on my experience and research, I believe more educational resources are needed for teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I have combined interviews of participants --two certified and currently practicing art teachers working in the public school setting, two adaptive art specialists, and two art therapists-- with relevant information from my Review of Literature to compile an initial set of practices and adaptive techniques specifically for art teachers to use in constructing a successful learning environment in the art classroom for students with ASD. The first is a systematic review which examines the effectiveness of Art Therapy (AT) for people with psychosis, and whether it is a suitable and meaningful intervention to them. A systematic search of the literature resulted in 16 articles which were critically reviewed. There was inconclusive evidence for the efficacy of AT due to the limited and poor quality research. However, AT was considered beneficial and meaningful by people with psychosis and art therapists. The use of AT for this population cannot be discounted though better quality research

Abstract:

Abstract:
The molecular events that promote or inhibit specific training adaptations (i.e. skeletal muscle hypertrophy or mitochondrial biogenesis) are not completely understood. Accordingly, there is a need to better define both the acute and chronic responses to divergent exercise stimuli in order to elucidate the specific molecular mechanisms that ultimately determine skeletal muscle phenotype. Therefore, the primary aims of the studies undertaken for this thesis were to examine the acute molecular adaptation responses in skeletal muscle following resistance and endurance training. In o

Abstract:
This dissertation considers selected children's popular texts in print form as they have been adapted for stage, film and television. Examined are the features that determine their popularity, in their written mode and adapted form, and the apparent similarities and differences found in both. There are also questions answered surrounding the 'why' and 'how' of adaptation, its role and future possibilities. The 'why' of adaptation looks at the reason to turn a successful story into a film or play, while the 'how' question looks at the transformation processes necessary to transpose a story

The process to successfully adapt to climate change for farmer communities’ in Vietnam faces a multitude of challenges.  This thesis proposes that institutional barriers to implementing policy related to climate change adaptation occur in key sectors related to farmer’s livelihoods at the local level, which are important to facilitating the adaptation process for farmer communities. It analyses the current state of the climate change policy landscape, investigates water, agricultural and disaster risk management sectors in Vietnam in the literature, and examines more closely how governmental i

Due to expected impacts such as flooding, landslides, and biodiversity loss, climate change adaptation has become recognized as an inevitable part of climate change policy and practice. However, our understanding of how to organize the management of adaptation is lacking, and few concrete measures have yet been implemented. Knowledge gaps exist relating to constraints on and opportunities and facilitating factors for adaptation. This study aims to fill such gaps by analyzing how Swedish climate change vulnerability and adaptation management is integrated across issues, sectors, and scales in p
