Audio streaming services have made it easier for countries around the world to listen to each other's music. This expansion in listeners' access to global content, however, has raised questions about streaming's impact on the import and export flows of music between countries and their preferences for local or global content. Here, we analyze five and a half years of all streaming data from Spotify, a global music streaming service, and find that preferences for local content have increased from 2014 through 2019, reversing previously noted trends. A competent manager studies accounting data before making the next decision regarding the company's finances. Sport, music, performing and visual arts, video gaming, social media, TV, streaming, betting, cryptographic assets and other forms of entertainment are competing for consumers’ time and money. Even more so since the world of entertainment is becoming a hybrid combination of the virtual and physical in how an organization can deliver its brand promise, as well as a value-added brand e

Abstract:
In the original proposal we planned to focus on two proteins related to the actin cytoskeleton: TCH2, a touch-induced calmodulin-like protein which was found by us to interact with the IQ domain of myosin VIII, ATM1; and ERD10, a dehydrin which was found to associate with actin filaments. As reported previously, no other dehydrins were found to interact with actin filaments. In addition so far we were unsuccessful in confirming the interaction of TCH2 with myosin VIII using other methods. In addition, no other myosin light chain candidates were found in a yeast two hybrid survey. Nevertheless

Seidel, Udo, Hilary Carter, and Priyanka Sharma. CTO Summit Report EU 2022: Resiliency in Multi-Cloud. The Linux Foundation, 2022. https://doi.org/10.70828/xbaq3534.

Full text
Abstract:
Multi-Cloud resiliency means avoiding or mitigating an adverse event's impact and being ready for unexpected outcomes. Achieving Multi-Cloud resiliency requires different approaches than those that are used within a single cloud, no-cloud environments, or even hybrid cloud environments. Finding a path to federate Multi-Cloud architectures is a growing concern for many organizations. In May 2022, the Linux Foundation and the CNCF hosted the first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Summit about Multi-Cloud resiliency, and how to achieve it. The Summit included 21 participants from six business

Abstract:
Preliminary surficial geology, based on airphoto interpretation of the Cape MacDonnel map area, records three glacial and landform terrains. First, ridged, hummocky tills dominate Big Spruce and Scented Grass hills between 300 and 650 m elevation. Second, undifferentiated till covers the lower flanks of Scented Grass and Big Spruce hills, also extending northeastward of the latter, where streamlined till occurs. Third, glaciolacustrine sediments are confined to some lowlands below 200 to 250 m, where they discontinuously cover various till units along the shores of Great Bear Lake. Variable ic

Masters, Geoff. Time for a paradigm shift in school education? Australian Council for Educational Research, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.37517/91645.2020.1.

Full text
Abstract:
The thesis of this essay is that the current schooling paradigm is in need of review and that the answer may lie in a shift in how we think about teaching and learning. Under the prevailing paradigm, the role of teachers is to deliver the year-level curriculum to all students in a year level. This mismatch has unfortunate consequences for both teaching and learning. Currently, many students are not ready for their year-level curriculum because they lack prerequisite knowledge, skills and understandings. The basis for an alternative paradigm and a 'new normal' is presented. The essay addresses

Abstract:
This paper reviews the Climate Change Operational Framework 2017–2030 (CCOF2030) focusing on measures to enhance the climate actions of ADB in its developing member countries. It examines primary components of the CCOF2030 results framework for good monitoring and evaluation. The similarities and overlaps between the CCOF2030 and ADB’s Strategy 2030, specifically Operational Priority 3, are also discussed in terms of the intersecting themes of climate change, disaster resilience, and environmental sustainability. Key recommendations focus on how ADB can streamline and allocate responsibilities

Abstract:
The use of AI in the IRCC continues to be a topic of debate, especially regarding ethical concerns and the potential for harm. While AI has been used to streamline processes, several of its uses by the IRCC have raised concerns. The key characteristics of IRCC applicants are location, age and gender. Each comes with its own set of issues. Even when attempting to use debiasing tools, developers risk “removing characteristics that could be important for decisions like refugee determinations.” This can cause concerns, especially when AI is used in departments or agencies that experience high publ

Abstract:
Wet gap crossings are one of the most complex maneuvers undertaken by military engineers, who, along with engineer planners, require better tools to increase the capacity for efficient use of limited bridging resources across the battlespace. Planning for bridging maneuvers often involves a complicated and inefficient system of ad hoc spreadsheets combined with an overreliance on the personal experience and training of subject matter experts (SMEs).
