The aim of the study was to develop a new experimental model of heterotopic autotransplantation of the spleen by implanting splenic fragments into subcutaneous fat. Research Material: Experimental studies were conducted on 8 white mongrel rats weighing 300-400 grams at the age of 3 to 4 months. Research Results: Splenectomy is accompanied by significant violations of hemostasis and the immune system of the body, which justifies the feasibility of performing heterotopic autotransplantation of the spleen (GATS). In cases of infection or necrosis of the implant when performing traditional GATS me

Experimental rat models are widely used in cancer research. This is facilitated by the diversity of existing inbred animal lines and their relatively low cost. The purpose of this review was to analyze and systematize the publications 2000-2024 selected in PubMed and in national author databases on various cancer rat models. The advantages, disadvantages, and prospects of using these models in the study of different aspects of cancer pathology are discussed. The ammonia concentration is similar to stable air. Amount of ozone in 2.4 mg was added and subsequently weight loss of ammonia was measured. Measurements were performed at different temperatures (20°C, 45°C) and different air humidity. The observed ratio of reacting ozone and ammonia is 5.2:1. It was also found, that this ratio is practically independent of temperature and relative humidity that occur in a stable environment. T

The main subject of this thesis concerns the optimum design of experiments for discriminating between two rival mathematical models. In addition, optimality of designs for parameter estimation is investigated although restricted to binary response models. Optimal design theory and generalized linear models form the background for this work. The former provides the tools for construction of the optimum designs whereas the latter provides the framework in which the methods are developed. Mathematical models could predict the performance of the washing process. Experiments were carried out on a Talcum suspension varying the pressure difference of the washing stage. Abstract:
Injecting a polymer solution into a porous medium significantly increases the modeling complexity, compared to model a polymer bulk solution. Even if the polymer solution is injected at a constant rate into the porous medium, the polymers experience different flow regimes in each pore and pore throat. The main challenge is to assign a macroscopic porous media “viscosity” to the fluid which can be used in Darcy law to get the correct relationship between the injection rate and pressure drop. One can achieve this by simply tabulating experimental results (e.g., injection rate vs pressure drop).

Truck platoons are expected to improve safety and reduce fuel consumption. However, their use is projected to accelerate pavement damage due to channelized-load application (lack of wander) and potentially reduced duration between truck-loading applications (reduced rest period). The effect of wander on pavement damage is well documented, while relatively few studies are available on the effect of rest period on pavement permanent deformation. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to quantify the impact of rest period theoretically, using a numerical method, and experimentally, using
