O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar o desenvolvimento do sujeito surdo nas aulas de teoria musical, prática instrumental de flauta doce e instrumento de sopro clarinete. A partir deste estudo, compreender como o aluno surdo percebe a música ao seu redor e como ele se relaciona com o professor e alunos em sala de aula. Esse estudo buscou sondar percepções de professores sobre a importância da arte no processo de inclusão escolar e social de estudantes. A investigação ocorreu em duas escolas públicas do Rio de Janeiro. Com base em indicadores escolares, uma foi considerada de bom rendimento escolar, chamada de Escola A e a outra de baixo rendimento, chamada de Escola B. Em ambas as escolas focamos turmas do 9º ano consideradas problemáticas constituídas por estudantes com faixa etária acima da média.
