Abstract:
We review from a different perspective the approach and solution to the torque-free Euler equations, also called the free asymmetric top equations. We aim to simplify and broaden the study of the asymmetric free rigid body. This is an old but important integrable problem that has two first integrals: the energy and the angular momentum. We reduce this problem by eliminating the time as the independent variable in the three autonomous Euler equations written in cylindrical dimensionless variables, which allows a geometric study of the solution as a function of the cylindrical angle variable ψ,

SummaryThe structure and development of epidermal hairs of five cucurbitaceous fruits are described. The epidermal hairs are glandular and eglandular. Glandular hair consists of 1–2‐celled foot and a body differentiated into a multicellular stalk and a clavate head. Eglandular hair is cylindrical or filiform and has 1–2‐celled foot and uniseriate multicellular body. The branched glandular hair of Luffa cylindrica is first time reported in the cucurbitaceous fruits.

Radial Derivative Forward Modeling of Gravity Anomalies for Identification of Cylindrical Geological Features. The gravity method is a geophysical method with exploration costs that are quite cheap compared to other geophysical methods. This method is based on the density contrast of the target body with the surrounding. The cylindrical body is one of the targets among various other geological features. This research was conducted to test the ability of radial derivatives of gravity anomalies for targets in the form of cylindrical body. Radial derivatives consist of a first derivative and a se

Abstract:
The interaction between water waves and a floating or fixed body is bi-directional: wave forces act on and cause motion in the body, and the body alters the wave field. The impact of the body on its wave field is important to understand because: 1) it may have positive or negative consequences on the natural or built environment; 2) multiple bodies in proximity interact via the waves that are scattered and radiated by them; and 3) in ocean wave energy conversion, by conservation of energy, as a device absorbs energy, so too must the energy be removed from the wave field. Many-body quantum dynamics is a challenging problem that has induced the development of many different computational techniques. One powerful technique is the multiconfiguration time-dependent Hartree-Fock (MCTDHF) method. This method allows proper consideration of electronic correlation with much less computational overhead compared to other similar methods. In this work, we present our implementation of the MCTDHF method on a non-uniform cylindrical grid. With the one-body limit of our code, we studied the controversial topic of tunneling delay, and showed that our results agree with one rec

The principal objective of this study is to investigate, develop and verify a framework for determining the convective heat transfer co-efficient from a cylindrical model that can easily be adaptable to more complex geometry - more specifically the human body geometry. Analysis of the model under forced convection airflow conditions between the transition velocity of about 1m/s - calculated using the Reynolds number - up until 12m/s were carried out. The paper presents the results of work on changing the mass of closed gears by the example of a single-stage cylindrical gearbox. Two variants of the solution for the problem are considered. In the first variant, it is proposed to reduce the thickness of the walls of unloaded areas to the constructive minimum. The other solution involves the replacement of the unloaded areas of the gearbox housing with non-metallic inserts. To produce the inserts, ZELLAMID plastic is recommended. Both variants are based on the method of topological optimization of housing parts. The Fusion 360 software product
