Particularly in the health domain, humans thrive to reach an equilibrium between maximizing pleasure and minimizing harm. I propose that a cognitive strategy people employ to reach this equilibrium is the activation of Compensatory Health Beliefs (CHBs). CHBs are beliefs that the negative effects of an unhealthy behavior can be compensated for, or "neutralized," by engaging in another, healthy behavior. "I can eat this piece of cake now because I will exercise this evening" is an example of such beliefs. This thesis presents a theoretical framework which aims at explaining why people create CH

Prior research on eating behaviors has shown that romantic partners actively merge their dietary preferences throughout the course of a relationship and find significant value in cooking and eating the same foods together at the same times. The composition of the diet has been recently researched as an important factor in controlling excess body fat, and thus obesity. Along with dietary modifications, it has been stressed to incorporate behavior modification and daily physical activity to promote weight loss. This study investigated a 12 week low dietary fat education program including behavior modification and physical activity to promote weight loss in the abdominally obese. Indien hierdie praktykteorie geïmplementeer word, sal dit in die Prakties-Teologiese terugvra na die Woord daadwerklik daartoe bydra dat die beeld en bedoeling van die herdermotief in die pastoraat tot sy reg sal kom. D.Cur.
The postpartum-period is a very emotional time for the mother with a new baby, which increases her need for support. Various factors contribute to this need for support, such as the change from the extended family to the nuclear family, which has reduced the number of network persons. The hospitalisation period of the mother after the birth of a baby has also decreased drastically, owing to the high medical costs associated with the birth of a baby. This results in the mother being discharged from the hospital much earlier and her accessibility to professional support being limited t

Various factors, however, affect the intensive care nurse's actions so that she does not achieve the aim. Both of them are therefore important when facilitating health in the critically ill patient. The aim of this study is to explore and describe the experience of mutual interaction

(Subject Didactics of Mathematics)
The phenomenon commonly known as 'mathematics anxiety' has been discovered by researchers endeavouring to determine the cause of problems with mathematics, the antagonism against it, and the deliberate avoidance of the subject. The way in which we view and experience mathematics has a radical influence on our decision-making. Mathematics anxiety is a dominant factor in the decisionmaking process of pupils in a wide spectrum of situations, and research has confirmed that mathematics anxiety invariably has a negative, hampering effect.
