In the digital age the internet and the ICT devices changed our daily life and routines. It means we couldn‟t live without these services and devices anywhere (work, home, holiday, etc.). It can be experienced in the tourism sector; digital contents become key tools in the tourism of the 21st century; they will be able to adapt the traditional tourist guide methodology to the applications running on novel digital devices. At present, embedded devices have become a part of people’s lives, so detecting security vulnerabilities contained in devices becomes imperative. There are three challenges in detecting embedded device vulnerabilities: (1) Most network protocols are stateful; (2) the communication between the web front-end and the device is encrypted or encoded; and (3) the conditional constraints of programs in the device reduce the depth and breadth of fuzz testing. To address these challenges, we propose a new type of gray-box fuzz testing framework in this paper, called EWVHunter, which is mainly used to f

The properties of all-optical nonlinear waveguide devices are investigated. In particular, the nonlinear directional coupler (NLDC) and nonlinear Mach-Zehnder interferometer (NLMZ) are analyzed using perturbation theory. The perturbation theory provides differential equations that describe the amplitude of the waveguide modes as a function of the propagation distance. To be practical, these waveguide devices require nonlinear phase shifts of π or more. Therefore, the theoretical investigation of these devices emphasizes their fabrication in bulk and multiple-quantum-well (MQW) gallium arsenide

Many minimally-invasive interventions utilize magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to noninvasively visualize internal anatomy and pathologies. This, in conjunction with external trajectory guides, can be used to internally position devices to perform complex surgeries with minimal disruption to the patients’ healthy anatomy. These trajectory guides are typically rigidly attached to the skull and feature adjustable channels through which drills, needles, and /or catheters may be introduced. Tr

Ion-exchange in glass produces guides with a large increase in refractive index (∆n = 0.1) and low propogation loss. Hence the technique is useful for devices requiring tight confinement such as ring resonators(1),(2) and passive power dividers(3). The large ∆n, however, results in large mode mismatch between single mode channel guides and fibers. A typical single mode, ion-exchanged channel guide in glass has a width of 2μm. It is not possible to mode match to a fiber merely by tapering the width to 5-10μm at the device input since this makes the input end multimode. An alternate approach is
