Productive replication was lost after 2 weeks, but HHV-7 DNA was detected up to 1 month after infection. Thus, macrophages become infected by HHV-7 and might play an important role as a viral reservoir, as has been demonstrated for human immunodeficiency virus type 1.

Human herpesvirus type 7 (HHV-7), with its high prevalence and apparently non pathogenic nature, is believed to be a virus very well adapted to humans. It is therefore useful to study the transcription patterns of the virus and the host to understand the life cycle and pathogenesis (or the lack of it) of HHV-7 infection. In order to obtain the global pattern of host and viral gene expression, we have made a DNA microarray containing probes that target all 86 predicted HHV-7 open reading frames and approximately 1000 cellular genes. Abstract:
The introduction of self-driving cars (SDCs) onto public roads will raise challenging issues to ensure traffic fluency. One of these is to guarantee pedestrians feel safe and confident when encountering this new type of vehicle in order to promote pedestrian crossing in front of SDCs. Hence, the aim of the study was to investigate the impact of different types of external Human-Machine Interfaces (eHMIs) indicating the yielding behaviour of a SDC on pedestrians’ feeling of safety and trust. Thirty-four participants (19 young adults aged 22-41 and 15 older adults aged 63-80) volunteered to take

Plasminogen activators (PA)may play an important role in the regulation of enzyme activation relative to basement membrane degradation associated with the invasive growth of tumors. In order to acquire a better understanding of the complex cascade reactions leading to the formation of plasmin, we have undertaken a comparative study of urokinase-type (u-PA) and tissue-type (t-PA) plasminogen activators in cellular extracts of 20 human cancer cell lines (13 malignant melanomas, 6 breast adenocarcinomas and 1 vulvar carcinoma). Four malignant cell lines, showing various t-PA or u-PA activity level

Abstract:
PRCI commissioned this project (NDE-2-7) to further investigate the effects of human performance factors on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) performance for conducting Magnetic Particle Inspections (MPI) and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UT) on pipeline components. MPI and UT techniques were targeted for this research project because they are among the most well understood and utilized NDE technologies for in-service oil and gas pipeline assessments. This project was conducted in parallel with another PRCI NDE-2-7 project (PR-580-163710), which focused on evaluating the impacts of training pro

Introduction. Tools that leverage machine learning, a subset of artificial intelligence, are becoming increasingly important for conducting evidence synthesis as the volume and complexity of primary literature expands exponentially. In response, we have created a living rapid review and evidence map to understand existing research and identify available tools. Methods. We searched PubMed, Embase, and the ACM Digital Library from January 1, 2021, to April 3, 2024, for comparative studies, and identified older studies using the reference lists of existing evidence synthesis products (ESPs). This chapter provides an account of the major family transformations that occurred in recent decades across Latin American and Caribbean countries and examines the implications of such transformations for childrens school attendance and progress and womens labor force participation. Latin American and Caribbean families and households have undergone substantial changes in recent years while keeping some of their distinctive features unchanged (Esteve et al., 2022; Esteve & Florez-Paredes, 2018a; Juárez & Gayet, 2014). Abstract:
EuroSea is a holistic large-scale project encompassing the full value chain of marine knowledge, from observations to modelling and forecasting and to user-focused services. This report summarizes the legacy of EuroSea as planned and measured through a dedicated impact monitoring protocol, a holistic assessment of the project's successes in advancing and integrating European ocean observing and forecasting systems. Since its start, EuroSea has been analysing how well the project progresses towards the identified areas of impact. Impact assessment is not performance evaluation. These terms over
