Introduction First described in 2002, osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ, or avascular necrosis of the jaw) is an uncommon but potentially serious side effect of treatment with bisphosphonates. Although typically identified in patients with multiple myeloma and other malignancies, a few cases have been reported in patients taking bisphosphonates - a potent drug class used in the treatment of osteoclast-mediated bone resorption issues, including postmenopausal osteoporosis, Paget's disease, multiple myeloma, and malignant hypercalcemia. In der vorliegenden Arbeit sollten die in der veterinärmedizinischen Literatur bisher diskutierten Ursachen für LJD bei Makropoden hinsichtlich ihrer tatsächlichen Bedeutung abgeklärt und die Eignung einer formalininaktivierten, bestandsspezifischen Adsorbatvakzine zur Prophylaxe von LJD getestet werden. Da LJD eine parodontale Erkrankung darstellt, wurden auch die für Entstehung einer humanen Parodontitis prädisponierenden Faktoren mit in die Untersuchung einbezogen. Lumpy jaw is a well-recognised cause of morbidity and mortality in captive macropods (Macropodidae) worldwide. Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (BRONJ) is a chronic necrosis of the jawbone that occurs in ≈1-5% of patients receiving bisphosphonate medication for conditions such as osteoporosis and certain cancers. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur bipolär sjukdom kan påverka en människas identitet. Tidigare forskning har föreslagit att människor med bipolär sjukdom kan ha svårt att identifiera vem de verkligen är och att de kan ha en mindre utvecklad identitet. I denna kvalitativa studie genomfördes tio djupintervjuer som sedan kodades. En tematisk analys utfördes. Fyra teman identifierades: Uppfattning om identitet, acceptans, föräldraskap och sjukdomens påverkan på livet. En övervägande del av respondenterna uppgav att sjukdomen är en del av deras identitet, detta motsäger tidigare forskning.

Behçet’s disease (BD) is a chronic, multi systemic, recurrent vasculitis disease of unknown aetiology. Patients with cerebral venous thrombosis were tested for the JAK2 (V617F) mutation and were followed until the development of a myeloproliferative neoplasm or censored at the end of follow-up.
