Abstract:
Letters by Th.I. Stcherbatsky (18661941) to his teacher I.P. Minaev (18401890) were addressed to Pou resort, France and dated JanuaryMarch 1890. The preface to the publication analyzes important aspects: the university life and circumstances, scientific plans of the young Stcherbartsky. It expounds, for the first time, his attitude to the system of local self-government in rural regions (zemstvo). This publication explains the early period of Th. Stcherbatskys biography and is thus an important contribution to historical studies of the period. Letters by Th. Stcherbatsky are housed at the personal archive of I.P. Minaev at the Archives of the Orientalists at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS. They are being published for the first time.

Abstract:
In our paper we propose a typology of the different ways in which the theme of consumption and the consumer society is treated in contemporary Russian literature. Some writers, of whom Oksana Robski is perhaps the best known, view consumption as something entirely positive, as a way for an individual (and especially a woman) to affirm their social identity. Others, such as Sergei Minaev and Viktor Pelevin, directly attack consumerism for the manner in which it has produced a spiritual void in Russian society today. A third group of writers, such as Zakhar Prilepin and Dmitry Bykov, criticise consumerism indirectly, by showing characters who are more or less violently opposed to the new society. Finally, novelists such as Ol’ga Slavnikova, Vladimir Sorokin and Mikhail Elizarov, do not evoke consumerism explicitly, but instead use metaphor to evoke the absence of basic human values in the new market economy. In today’s Russia, consumption has become the focus of a bitter struggle between different views of human nature, of society, and perhaps most importantly, of Russian identity itself. Nowhere is this struggle more clearly portrayed than in the pages of contemporary Russian literature.

Abstract:
The ethnographic focus of the Russian Indological school was mainly developed in St. Petersburg and, above all, in the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (MAE). The author identifies five main stages of its development. Thus, the purpose of the article is to determine the time frame, the main life circumstances of a particular stage, the main actors, the tools and tasks of scientific activity, key scientific activities and the main result/product of labor. The first period refers to the last third of the XIX century and is associated with the name of Ivan Minaev (1840–1890), founder of the Russian Indological School. The next stage is connected with the names of the director of the MAE Vasily Radlov and the Indologists Alexander and Lyudmila Mervart, who carried out a special ethnographic expedition to Ceylon and India in 1914–1918, for the reorganization of the scientific and educational activities of the museum. The early Soviet period (from 1917 to the middle of the 20th century) was connected with the separation of MAE from world science and other restrictions, but Indologists (Virendranath Chattopadhyaya, Valery Krasnodembsky, etc.) at that time found ways to acquire new ethnographic knowledge, the directions of scientific research were partly expanded. The revival of all areas of MAE Indological activity occurred after the liberation of the countries of South Africa from colonial dependence. The current state of affairs in the MAE inspires a certain optimism. There is a well-prepared team of Indologists and the most important traditions have been preserved.

Abstract:
One of the methods to evaluate the level of gene expression is a real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Interest in the study of molecular mechanisms of gene expression and its evaluation in prokaryotes is due to the lack of research on this issue and a number of methodological problems. The paper presents a study of gene expression mechanism in prokaryotes evidence from Aeromonas salmonicida AS1 gyrase B and collagenase genes. As a result of the research, Random primer and oligo (dT) primer (two 3’-terminal nucleotides of the primer complementary to stop codon nucleotides of the transcribed DNA sequence) with anchor and adapter of our own design were tested, which are used in the reaction of reverse transcription. The use of oligo (dT) primer became possible only after polyadenylation of extracted RNA using special poly-A polymerase kit. It is determined that the developed protocol of reverse transcription (RT) using oligo (dT) primer and adapter with certain sequence on its 5’-terminus designed for further annealing of the reverse primer during real-time PCR along with preliminary polyadenylation of RNA excludes specific amplification of the background genomic DNA. This technique may be applied in evaluating the expression level of low-expression genes when high background genomic DNA content is found in the RNA sample, e.g. at the end of logarithmic growth of prokaryotic cells.ContributionAll authors bear responsibility for the work and presented data. All authors made an equal contribution to the work. Minaev M. Yu. developed scientific and methodological approaches to work, determined the scope of research, analyzed the data obtained, performed the narrative and corrected it in final. Makhova A.A. selected research objects, carried out RNA extraction, reverse transcription and PCR analysis, performed the narrative part. The authors were equally involved in writing the manuscript and bear the equal responsibility for plagiarism.Conflict of interestThe authors declare no conflict of interest.

Abstract:
Firstly, I accept Beeston's proposal to refer ‘to linguistic data as Minaic, Sabaic, Qatabanic and Hadramitic, leaving Minaean etc. for non-linguistic contexts’ (Beeston, 1987a: 13). His argument (at least with respect to the distinction between the ‘Sabaean’ and the ‘Sabaic’) looks entirely convincing:The Sabaeans were the inhabitants of the area around Ma'rib. But they shared a common language(no doubt with dialectal varieties) with the peoples of the desert fringes between Ma'rib and Wadial-Jawf, of a considerable part of Wadi al-Jawf itself, and of the high plateaux lying in the angle of those two areas—Arḥab, Qā‘ al-Bawn, Qā‘ Ṣany‘ā’ etc. It is dubious whether these other peoples would have called themselves Sabaeans,1 and it might be preferable therefore to term the language Sabaic rather than Sabaean’ (Beeston, 1979: 115).

Abstract:
Purpose. The reputation of the satirical weekly Iskra is traditionally determined by the political context of the Russian Empire in 1860s. Despite the fact that in the first years of its existence, the publication attracted writers of various fractions, views, and convictions, Iskra was perceived as a radical magazine, “…another department of Sovremennik”. Moreover, Iskra’s defamations and attacks against provincial and capital officials, and writers have become an inte gral part of the everyday life of the 1860s. Individual articles and whole issues have been banned and censored, though this policy only promoted and strengthened the reputation of weekly. Later, reflecting the importance of the magazine, the Soviet literary criticism established a typological relationship between Iskra by Kurochkines brothers and the left-wing newspaper of the same name published by V. I. Lenin at the beginning of the 20th century. This article attempts to reinterpret Iskra, implying a “weakening” of the sociological and political aspects of interpretation in favor of the aesthetic ones.Results. The article put forward a hypothesis that publications such as Charivari, Punch, and Iskra can be considered from perspective of modern discursive practices: post-folklore (the phenomenon of variable text and multiple authorship), post-modernity (discrediting the classical heritage or its carnival rethinking) and post-irony (deconstruction of modern leaders of opinion, self-exposure). Based on the study of prosaic and poetic parodies and satire, graphic texts - cartoons and serials (comics), the author analyzes the specificity of the construction and presentation of Russian reality as an anti-world. The article contains fragments of prose and poetic feuilletons by D. D. Minaev, V. P. Burenin, and M. Stopanovsky, many of which are published for the first time.Conclusion. Iskra as a product of the polemical journalism of the Russian Empire in 1860s displayedan experience of a new aesthetics (a kind of anti-aesthetics), synthesizing schoolchildren (cartoons) and decadent subcultures (Baudelaire translations). Apparently, the 8000 subscribers included not only a radical and democratic reader but also a general audience, equally tired of the official tone of government periodicals and the moralizing of the progressive camp. Demonstrating Russian life as the so-called ‘antiworld’, Iskra proposed a version of “carnival liberation”, which was probably reflected in the poetics of many contemporaries: M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin, N. S. Leskov, F. M. Dostoevsky. In this regard, the issue of post-folklore, post-modernism, post-truth, and post-irony on the pages of Iskra rather remained unresolved. However, the change in perspective, it seems to us, enables reinterpretation of the previously collected data, allowing us to give a new interpretation.

Abstract:
Aim To study the expression of Mina53 and its relationships with clinicopathological characteristics, antioncogene inactivation and tumor proliferation in human gastric carcinoma, and to explore the role of Mina53 in carcinogenesis and tumor progression. Methods Expression of Mina53 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) was determined in gastric carcinoma (n=79), gastric dysplasia (n=21) and normal gastric tissues (n=20), while p53 was measured in gastric carcinoma tissues by immunohistochemistry. Results Mina53 was negatively expressed in all normal mucosa tissues. Dysplasia specimens showed weakly positive staining for Mina53 in 3 of 21 cases. Elevated expression of Mina53 was observed in 72 (91.1%) of the gastric carcinomas. No significant associations were found between Mina53 and clinicopathological characteristics such as sex, age, histological differentiation, distant metastasis and lymph node metastasis (p>0.05). There was a significant association with depth of invasion (χ2=5.385, p<0.05) and TMN stage (χ2=6.255, p<0.05). In gastric carcinoma, positive staining for p53 was detected in 53 of 79 cases (67.1%), showing a significant association with Mina53 (χ2=5.161, p<0.05). The mean (± SD) PCNA labeling index for gastric carcinoma was 39.47±16.92%. Mina53 expression was positively associated with PCNA level (r=0.756, p<0.01). Conclusion Mina53 was overexpressed in gastric carcinoma and associated with tumor proliferation and antioncogene inactivation. Mina53 could therefore play an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of gastric carcinoma.

Abstract:
The JMJD10 gene and its encoded protein MYC-induced nuclear antigen (MINA53) are associated with multiple cancers. Besides having both an oncogenic and tumor suppressor function, the intricate role of JMJD10 in cancer is complex as it depends on the cancer type. In particular, the functional role of JMJD10/MINA53 in gastric cancer has been poorly understood. In this study, we have unraveled the molecular signatures and functional roles of JMJD10/MINA53 in gastric cancer by multiple approaches, i.e., multi-omics bioinformatics study, analysis of human gastric cancer tissues, and studies in vitro using knockdown or overexpression strategies in gastric cancer cell lines. The results indicated that the JMJD10 gene and MINA53 protein are commonly overexpressed in cancer patients. JMJD10/MINA53 is involved in the regulation of proliferation and survival of gastric cancer by controlling cell cycle gene expression. These processes are highly associated with MINA53 enzymatic activity in the regulation of H3K9me3 methylation status and controlling activation of AP-1 signaling pathways. This highlights the oncogenic role of JMJD10/MINA53 in gastric cancer and opens the opportunity to develop therapeutic targeting of JMJD10/MINA53 in gastric cancer.

Abstract:
AbstractAlthough combination antiretroviral therapy is potent to block active replication of HIV-1 in AIDS patients, HIV-1 persists as transcriptionally inactive proviruses in infected cells. These HIV-1 latent reservoirs remain a major obstacle for clearance of HIV-1. Investigation of host factors regulating HIV-1 latency is critical for developing novel antiretroviral reagents to eliminate HIV-1 latent reservoirs. From our recently accomplished CRISPR/Cas9 sgRNA screens, we identified that the histone demethylase, MINA53, is potentially a novel HIV-1 latency-promoting gene (LPG). We next validated MINA53’s function in maintenance of HIV-1 latency by depleting MINA53 using the alternative RNAi approach. We further identified that in vitro MINA53 preferentially demethylates the histone substrate, H3K36me3 and that in cells MINA53 depletion by RNAi also increases the local level of H3K36me3 at LTR. The effort to map the downstream effectors unraveled that H3K36me3 has the cross-talk with another epigenetic mark H4K16ac, mediated by KAT8 that recognizes the methylated H3K36 and acetylated H4K16. Removing the MINA53-mediated latency mechanisms could benefit the reversal of post-integrated latent HIV-1 proviruses for purging of reservoir cells. We further demonstrated that a pan jumonji histone demethylase inhibitor, JIB-04, inhibits MINA53-mediated demethylation of H3K36me3, and JIB-04 synergizes with other latency-reversing agents (LRAs) to reactivate latent HIV-1.

Abstract:
The object of this paper is the novel Ambersons by Newton Booth Tarkington. This study focuses on the major question of how George Amberson Minafer, the major character, copes with his problem. The researcher employs a qualitative method in analyzing the novel. Following the data gathering and analysis, the writer draws two conclusions: first, George Amberson Minafer copes with his problem through changing his behavior, from negative behavior to positive one. He becomes more optimistic, independent and caring for his family. Second, George Amberson Minafer copes his problem through his action. He has the courage to admit his mistake. He asks forgiveness to the man that he hurt most.

Abstract:
Dendrothrips is one of 12 genera currently recognised in subfamily Dendrothripinae (ThripsWiki 2020). The species of Dendrothrips have the fore wing anteromarginal cilia arising ventrally behind the margin, but in contrast to species in other genera with this character state the wing apex is recurved without a terminal seta (Mound & Tree 2016). Species of Dendrothrips breed on leaves, and many have been recorded from species of plant family Oleaceae (Marullo 2003). The species of Dendrothrips are recorded from Europe to Australia, including Africa and Asia. In Iran so far, six species are known in the genus, including: D. aspersus Bhatti, D. degeeri Uzel, D. jasminum Ramakrishna & Margabandhu, D. karnyi Priesner, D. phyllireae (Bagnall) and D. saltator Uzel (Alavi et al. 2014, Minaei 2015, Mirab-balou & Dosty 2015). Recently the male of D. aspersus was described from Fars province, Iran (Minaei 2017), and the aim here is to describe the previously unknown male of D. karnyi, based on specimens collected in Ilam province, western Iran. Females of D. karnyi are recorded from Poland and northern Italy to Croatia and Turkey, but the male has remained unknown (zur Strassen 2003). Females have previously been recorded from Iran (Bagheri & Alavi 2007), but we recently collected one male with a series of females from Vitex agnus-castus, the host plant indicated by zur Strassen (2003).

Abstract:
The object of the research is a novel the magnificent Ambersons by Newton Booth Tarkington. The problem of this study is how George Amberson Minafer, the major character copes with his problem. The objective of this study is to analyze the novel based on the psychological approach. The researcher employs a qualitative method. In this method, the researcher uses two data sources, namely primary and secondary data sources. The primary data source is the novel itself. The secondary data sources are books about psychology and other sources, which are related to the analysis. The method of data collection is documentation and the technique of data analysis is descriptive technique. Based on the analysis, the researcher draws two conclusions: first, George Amberson Minafer copes his problem through changing his behaviour, from negative behavior to a positive one. He becomes more optimistic, independent and caring for his family. Second, George Amberson Minafer copes his problem through his actions. He has the courage to admit his mistake. He asks forgiveness to the man that he hurt most.

Six sites representing the alpine heaths (ass. Pediculari comosae–Eritrichietum caucasici Minaeva et Onipchenko 2002) and four sites of subalpine meadows (ass. Betonici macranthae–Calamagrostietum arundinaceae Onipchenko 2002) located on the Lagonaki upland (West Caucasus) were described in 1989–1992 and 1994, 1995 correspondingly. Altogether 250 relevés were made. In 2010 all sites were re-described. Some changes in total coverage, frequency of plant species and species richness of plant communities were analyzed. Two possible reasons of the changes are discussed: climatic warming on the West Caucasus and a sharp decrease in the intensity of livestock grazing.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Indian studies in Russia started with contemporary India surveys. D. G. Messerschmidt took lessons from Delhi merchant called Parasotamagire. G. Y. Kehr studied the dialects of Northwest India. G. S. Lebedev did his best to show resemblance of Hinduism and Christianity and to promote commercial relations, how- ever Russian society was hardly eager to know what real India was about. The keen interest arouse with the conquest of Central Asia and an advance towards the borders of British India. I. P. Minayev was the first Russian Indologist who studied both ancient and contemporary Indiа. He collaborated with the War Ministry sending them reports of his three travels around India that illustrated the public mood regarding the idea of Russian march towards the borders of British India. He appealed to both military and scientific circles in order to develop contemporary studies and founded Russian school of Indology although none of his students followed the path of their professor.

Abstract:
Of the 16 species listed in the genus Liophloeothrips (ThripsWiki 2018), 13 are known only from India, and all of these are phytophagous with some inducing galls in various plant families (Tyagi & Kumar 2011). However, the biology of the type species, L. glaber, as well as that of the other two species, L. hungaricus and L. pulchrisetis, remains in doubt. Each of these three species is from Europe, with L. pulchrisetis known from a single female, L. glaber from two specimens, and hungaricus recorded from Hungary, Finland and Iran on a very few individuals (Minaei & Mound 2014). The record of L. hungaricus from Iran was published without any information concerning the locality, date of collection, or number of specimens (Mortazawiha 1995). However, Minaei and Mound (2014) pointed out that the slide label data of L. hungaricus specimens from Europe suggested that this species is associated with the bark of certain Salicaceae. Moreover, they indicated the possibility that the three names might actually represent a single species, although the male of L. glabrus has a sternal pore plate whereas this is apparently absent in hungaricus. Given the few known specimens, it is not possible to know if these thrips live under bark and feed on fungal hyphae, or if the few specimens collected were actually leaf-feeders that were sheltering under bark. In this paper, a new species of the genus is described from southern Iran, based on both sexes. These specimens were extracted from leaf litter using a Berlese funnel, thus again it is not possible to be certain if the species is part of the community of fungus-feeding litter thrips, or if the specimens were merely sheltering.

Abstract:
The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is known for its marine resource diversity, and is where the Uvita Island Insular System is located. This site was declared a National Monument in 1985, and chosen as the site for the present study, which had the main objective of offering an adequate managing tool to perform several conservation and sustainable development actions on the Island, to promote the coordination and participation of all stakeholders. The study clearly identified the need for developing a management strategy to promote pertinent conservation actions at the site, to strengthen not only its particular diversity, but also to establish educational and scientific regulations to encourage the adequate conditions for the sustainable development of the Island. Currently, the Island faces conservation and management problems due to the lack of an administrator to control and regulate the use of the site. In order to learn about the perception of the local people, a survey type questionnaire was administered and a workshop held at the site. Based on the results of the survey, the majority of the local people thought that the Island activities should be regulated and vigilance controls established. It was also well recognized that government institutions, such as MINAE and JAPDEVA, should manage the site with the support of the local government, which should acquire a commitment towards conservation. ºThe study proposed a management strategy for the Island, placing emphasis on six lines of action: institutional organization, protection, zoning, education and training, monitoring, and research and recreation.

Abstract:
Background Acute ischemic stroke due to basilar artery occlusion (BAO) is associated with a dismal prognosis and, even though endovascular treatment (EVT) contributed to an improvement in clinical outcomes, patient selection is difficult and frequently results in futile recanalization. We investigated the prognostic value of baseline ADC quantification in patients with BAO undergoing EVT. Methods We retrospectively evaluated MRI at admission in 11 patients with BAO undergoing EVT. Ischemic lesions were defined on baseline DWI and minimum ADC (minADC), ADC ratio and total area were quantified. Final infarction area was determined on follow-up T2WI/CT. We assessed the correlation between imaging parameters, recanalization grade and clinical scores (NIHSS at admission, NIHSS and mRS at discharge and mRS at three months) using Spearman rank correlation coefficient and correcting for multiple comparisons with the false discovery rate (FDR). Results Lower values of minADC at admission MRI are strongly correlated with higher scores in NIHSS (rs = −0.845, p = 0.001) and mRS at discharge (rs = −0.743, p = 0.009). We also found a negative correlation between minADC and NIHSS at admission (rs = −0.67, p = 0.02), mRS at three months and difference between pre- and post-treatment ischemic area (rs = −0.664, p = 0.026) that lost significance with FDR correction. Ischemic area and TICI grade were not significantly associated with clinical results. Conclusions ADC quantification of ischemic lesions at baseline MRI seems to predict clinical outcome in patients with BAO undergoing EVT, more importantly than ischemic area or TICI grade.

Abstract:
The generic name Nagathrips was erected as a sub-genus of Mesothrips for the single species, crenulatus Varatharajan and Singh (2000). Subsequent studies revealed character states that were not included in the original description. These are: prosternal basantra absent; antennal segment III with one slender sense cone, segment IV with three similar sense cones; fore wings parallel-sided with no median constriction. These character states are not found in any species of Mesothrips, a genus of the Tribe Haplothripini (Mound & Minaei 2007), but are typical of members of the Liothrips-lineage (Dang et al. 2014). To confirm such a relationship partial sequence data of the mitochondrial gene (CO1) was obtained and compared with that of Gynaikothrips species.

Abstract:
The genus Mycterothrips, with 36 species worldwide, is primarily Holarctic, but with several species occurring in the Old World tropics including Australia and Africa (ThripsWiki 2019). The species apparently all feed and breed on leaves, although adults can disperse widely onto many plants. An identification key to 27 species was provided (Masumoto & Okajima 2006), but seven further species were subsequently described from Iran (Mirab-balou et al. 2011; Alavi et al. 2013; Minaei et al. 2017) and a key for distinguishing nine species from this country was presented by Alavi et al. (2013). Recently two further new species were described from tea plants together with a key for 10 species in China (Li et al. 2017).
