Metastasis accounts for the vast majority of deaths in breast cancer, and novel and effective treatments to inhibit cancer metastasis remain urgently developed. The expression level of heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) in invasive breast cancer tissue is higher than in adjacent non-cancerous tissue. In the present study, we investigated the inhibitory effect of penisuloxazin A (PNSA), a novel C- terminal inhibitor of HSP90, on metastasis of breast cancer cells and related mechanism in vitro. We found that PNSA obviously affected adhesion, migration, and invasion of triple-negative breast cancer (T

While existing knowledge distillation (KD) methods typically force students to mimic teacher features without considering prediction reliability, this practice risks propagating the teacher’s erroneous supervision to the student. To address this, we propose the Logitwise Distillation Network (LDN), a novel framework that dynamically quantifies sample-wise confidence through the ranking of ground truth labels in teacher logits. Specifically, LDN introduces three key innovations: (1) weighted class means that prioritize high-confidence samples, (2) adaptive feature selection based on logit ranki

Abstract: The aim of the study is to develop an algorithm for early diagnosis and prevention of professional neurosensory hearing elasticity (PNST). A comprehensive audiological survey of 600 miners aged 37 to 58, with 10 to 35 years of experience in noise conditions above the PDU for 7-21 dBA (class 3.1-3.3) was carried out. Based on the studies, an algorithm of early diagnosis and prevention of PNST, consisting of 3 blocks: I - hygienic (assessment of working conditions and risk categorization), II - clinical diagnostic, based on modern audiological methods of hearing research with the selec

Operating energy grids with a high share of renewable energy sources (RES) requires system reconfiguration as a response to environmental condition changes. To understand them better, simulations are needed and Modelica is an excellent choice for that. Energy grids with event-based reconfigurations are an instance of variable structure systems (VSS). However, the full support of VSS in Modelica is challenging and topic of ongoing research. Petri nets (PNs) offer a formalism for modeling VSS. The capability to simulate PNs in Modelica gives an opportunity to model VSS in Modelica. This paper pr

Human resources play a crucial role in achieving organizational goals, especially enhancing performance. This study focuses on the Department of Transportation in Gresik, aiming to examine the impact of work motivation on the performance of Civil Servants (PNS) while considering job satisfaction. Using purposive sampling, the research involved 61 PNS employees. A quantitative approach with explanatory research methods was applied, using questionnaires as the data collection tool. Simple linear regression and path analysis were used to test the hypotheses. The results show that work motivation

At the second national Professional Nurse Advocate Conference (PNA) (November, 2024) a co-creation Workshop was organised with delegates with the ambition of creating a set of Principles for PNAs who are leading Quality Improvement (QI) work. We heard that the role of PNAs undertaking QI, typically involves learning about systems and processes, which are unfamiliar to them when they first commence QI work. Sometimes QI work is based inter-departmentally or may have been a legacy of work generated across a wider organization – e.g., beyond their clinical area. We also learnt that in some commun

The Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) programme is a clinical and professional leadership initiative that prepares nurses in England to provide restorative clinical supervision (RCS) to their colleagues. The national PNA Programme was devised and commissioned by NHS England in 2021 and since that Ame Higher EducaAon Institutions (HEIs) have been delivering PNA courses across the country (NHSE, 2021). On becoming a qualified PNA, nurses have worked in different ways within their organisations to implement the various elements of the role. During 2022-23, Coventry University was commissioned to

Abstract:
Gram-negative plant pathogenic bacteria employ specialized type-III secretion systems (TTSS) to deliver an arsenal of pathogenicity proteins directly into host cells. These secretion systems are encoded by hrp genes (for hypersensitive response and pathogenicity) and the effector proteins by so-called dsp or avr genes. The functions of effectors are to enable bacterial multiplication by damaging host cells and/or by blocking host defenses. We characterized essential hrp gene clusters in the Stewart's Wilt of maize pathogen, Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii (Pnss; formerly Erwinia stewartii)
