Abstract This article examines empirical evidence on the use of translational aids from TAP studies over the last two decades and describes a think aloud protocol (TAP) study designed to verify some of these claims. Following a description of methodology used, the results of the study are presented and discussed. Basing on experience gained from the study, a number of methodological issues are then discussed: the use of students as subjects in TAP studies, the use of postgraduate students as co-investigators, as well as advantages and shortcomings of TAP methodology.

The present research examines translator training in Greece, with the ultimate aim being to provide suggestions for revising the translation curriculum in Greece. It goes without saying that a translation course is usually highly vocational, and an attempt is made to simulate professional practices in the classroom. Hence, local market requirements should be pinpointed and incorporated into the translation curriculum, if translation schools are to produce fully-fledged translators and not churn out dilettantes. That is why the identification and analysis of the translation market in Greece was

Cellular translation is one of the fundamental processes that make life possible. It is the point at which stored information, coded by the nucleic acid, is read and converted into three-dimensional functional proteins. By linking together the correct sequence of amino acids, spontaneous order is created. It is truly a remarkable process. The plechanism by which this is achieved can be understood in physical terms, by the structure of the molecular machinery involved. These structures are dynamic and elegant and we can observe them in action. Through the application of the techniques of struct
