✓ Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) typically associated with a worse prognosis than other localized extranodal lymphomas with similar histological characteristics. The defining feature of PCNSL is its confinement to the central nervous system (CNS), with proclivity for growth within the leptomeningeal as well as intraocular compartments. Primary CNS lymphoma rarely disseminates outside the CNS and accounts for less than 5% of all primary brain neoplasms. At least 95% of PCNSLs are of large B-cell histology, the most common subt

The standard treatment for DLBCL is R-CHOP chemoimmunotherapy (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, doxorubicin and prednisone). About one -third of patients have refractory disease or the lymphoma relapses. Prognosis after relapse of refractory disease is poor. Fitter and younger patients are recommended new intensive salvage chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation. High grade aggressive lymphomas have high mortality. By their nature, more than 40% of patients die from these diseases even with the improved treatment strategies currently available for oncology patients. The characteristic feature is that they are functionally heterogeneous and therefore have different biological and molecular signatures which make it difficult for all groups to respond to same line of treatment. Abstract:
Context: Primary central nervous system angeitis (APSNC) is a vasculitis confined to the central nervous system (CNS). Its incidence rate is 2.4 cases per 1,000,000 person-years. It affects predominantly small and medium sized arteries of the cerebral parenchyma, spinal cord and leptomeninges. The most common manifestations are headache, cognitive impairment, stroke and transient ischemic attack. The fact that it results in multifocal inflammation of the arteries and veins can lead to ischemic or hemorrhagic infarctions in multiple vascular territories, more common in the subcortical white mat

Introduction: Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a subtype of uncommon nonHodgkin lymphoma. The involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) is uncommon in the course of the disease. Objective: To report a case of recurrence of MCL in the CNS as the first manifestation, after chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. Case report: Male patient, 49 years old, with no previous comorbidities diagnosed with stage IV MCL (bone marrow), submitted to chemotherapy and autologous transplantation. After two years, he sought out the neurology clinic with a complaint of blurred vision. Neurological exami

Review question / Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of digital health interventions in monitoring and improving medication adherence in Multiple Sclerosis patients. Condition being studied: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most prevalent chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS), which leads to focal lesions in the white matter, characterized by selective primary demyelination with partial preservation of axons and reactive astrocytic gliosis. The disease is thought to be due to a complex interaction between different genetic and environmental fa
