Part One deals with Carrington's association with the Surrealist movement and looks at her texts as dreams/nightmares. Born in 1917, Carrington arrived in Paris just before her twentieth birthday. The opening chapter deals chiefly with biographical material and creates a context for Carrington's writing within the Surrealist movement. Chapters Two and Three explore Carrington's main stories of this period, examining the stylistic devices that make them dream-texts. Part Two deals with the major crisis in Carrington's life and writing: her internment in a Spanish asylum. Chapter Four looks at t

Peut-on lui laisser une place plus grande qu’elle n’en possède actuellement dans le système scolaire français, et en particulier en classe de seconde ? Abstract:
Research has provided ample evidence supporting the notion that interaction with books during early childhood enhances the development of reading skills (Bus, van IJzendorn, & Pellegrini, 1995; Dickinson & Smith, 1994; McKeown & Beck, 2004; Sénéchal & LeFevre, 2002). Additionally, we know there are substantial disparities in children’s experiences with language, vocabulary, and early literacy prior to entering kindergarten. These disparities have a lasting effect on later academic success (Catts, Hogan, & Fey, 2003; Hart & Risley, 1995: Snow, Burns, & Griffin, 1998). Children at greatest risk
